#358756 FFOC Code of Conduct

Posted obasa on 17 July 2006 - 08:21 PM

In the interest of maintaining the ffoc.co.uk message board services as media for the open exchange of helpful comments and information about modifiying the focus, I must insist that you adhere to the following Code of Conduct:

*  Use of the Message Boards is a privilege. We reserve the right to deny your use of this area at any time, without stated reason.

*  Slanderous, defamatory, false, obscene, indecent, lewd, pornographic, violent, abusive, insulting, threatening or harassing images or comments are not appropriate.

* Any attempt to avoid the swear-filter would result to an initial warning. If continuous, then it might cause a temporary or permanent ban.

*  Any form of direct or indirect personal attack or harassment is unacceptable behavior and is not tolerated. If you find something extreme or offensive posted on the boards, do not respond to it, privately or publicly. A site moderator will be reviewing the messages before posting and, if appropriate, will edit or delete it.
By all means however, email info@ffoc.co.uk with a link to the post and it will dealt with accordingly.

*  Do not "flame" people either publicly or privately via email. A flame is typically a nasty personal attack on a person.

*  Any comment that calls for unlawful or illegal behavior or might result in harm to others is not allowed.

*  Any form of direct or indirect marketing and advertising, unless otherwise authorised by the FFOC is strictly prohibited. If you wish to advertise to the FFOC audience please contact info@ffoc.co.uk with your request. Plus remain friendly and civil at all times.

*  Remember that the FFOC provides the message boards for you to discuss matters of interest with fellow owners/enthusiast. Please stay on topic.

*  Please do not post unauthorized, confidential or copyrighted information on the message boards.

* The FFOC reserves the right to remove usernames it deems inappropriate

*  By registering on the FFOC forum, you agree to abide by the Code of Conduct.  The FFOC forum moderators reserve the right to edit, move or delete postings that violate the above guidelines and may, in its sole discretion, warn, eject or ban users for violating this Code of Conduct.

*  No individuals that are members of staff or sponsors of other clubs are eligible to become FFOC SMT members or Coordinators.  This would put the individuals in a position where they can view confidential FFOC information.

*  No individuals that are members of staff of FFOC sponsors or affiliated companies are eligible to become FFOC SMT members or Coordinators.  This would put the individuals in a position where they can view confidential FFOC information.

-- ZERO TOLERANCE RULE --

From now on the SMT and the moderators are issuing a zero tolerance rule on this board of flamers.
* Flamers: a person who continually uses swear words, makes insulting remarks and/or defamatory remarks to other members or the FFOC.

Pornographic Material:  The FFOC does not allow any pornographic material OF ANY KIND on it's forum. This is inclusive of any links to pornographic sites/pictures.  Any forum user found to be posting pornographic material will be banned with immediate effect.

Definition of Pornographic:  Sexually explicit pictures, writing, or other material whose primary purpose is to cause sexual arousal.

The FFOC is a car club not a pornography site and our beliefs are that people come to the FFOC because of their love of the Ford Focus not to view pornographic material.
No pornographic material is present in locked or secure areas of the forum or website.

We are willing to accept that certain car show events display nudity and we prefer you to use your discretion on the content before posting. With this, the ffoc reserves the right to be flexible and retain its car club and family orientated ethos.

If you have any questions or suggestions regarding the message boards or this Code of Conduct, please feel free to e-mail info@ffoc.co.uk

Street racing

There are an increasing number of street racing related posts appearing on this forum. The FFOC wish to state that they do not endorse street racing or the use of excessive speeds on public roads in any way, shape or form. Future posts deemed to be of an irresponsible manner may be deleted.

Plus - We would prefer our members and associates to act in a responsible manner at such events like crusies etc, therefore to prevent any embarrassment for the club.

Avatars

The FFOC is a family club therefore Avatars must conform to a small set of rules.

*  Pornographic Avatars are not permitted in any way.
Definition of Pornographic:  Sexually explicit pictures, writing, or other material whose primary purpose is to cause sexual arousal.

*  Avatars should be no bigger than 100 x 100 pixels in size.
(NOTE)  The moderators are quite lenient on this and some avatars have been seen to be slightly bigger, but so long as there is nothing too extreme, your avatar should remain.

* All tasteful avatars are permitted, and the ffoc strongly suggest that you refrain from making them of a naked or half naked nature, this includes body painting.
We are willing to accept that certain car show events display nudity and we prefer you to use your discretion on the content before posting. With this, the ffoc reserves the right to be flexible and retain its car club and family orientated ethos.

If an avatar is viewed to imply, suggest or in breach of the above, it may be removed by an adminstrator without warning

Signatures

The FFOC has a No Signature Policy on it's forum.  We feel that Signatures are big, bulky and can slow down page loading times.  We have therefore switched off the signature feature.

FFOC Banning procedure

Inconjunction and reference to the ffoc 'code of conduct', in direct relation to misconduct and wrongdoing that falls outside of this framework, which would possibly or automatically come subjected to or give rise to the follow:

* First Warning:- a gentle reminder/warning (indicating/placing reference to a more formal warning - if applicable)

* Second Warning:- a more formal warning (indicating/placing reference to first warning/and continued action of misconduct) - this leading to a possible Temporary or Automatic ban.

Note: During this temporary ban the member or forum user will be permitted to view, but not post.

* Automatic Ban:- an immediate ban (with reference to ALL previous warnings including Temporary Ban).
Note: This particular ban means that all traces of your details will be removed/deleted from the ffoc database permanently.

Only the SMT or a member within, on behalf of the SMT reserve the right to administer or impose a warning or ban.

In the event of any SMT member, excluding the Chairman becoming a transgressor, the warnings or call for a resignation would be issued by the Chairman after a majority vote.

#798631 Your Attention - 'what Is My Car Worth' Threads

Posted obasa on 10 February 2013 - 10:31 AM

Hello All,

It has been noticed and brought to the FFOC attention that a number of 'What is my car worth' type threads are on the increase in the General Chat section.

The FFOC would like to advise you that there are many factors that affect the value of Ford Focus models e.g normal depreciation, age, mileage and overall condition of the car, and this makes it very difficult for our members and other users to advise on the saleable value of your car.

Given the above the FFOC from this date forward (9 February 2013) would prefer not to have such posts placed on the forum and would advise that these type of post will now be removed without warning.

However, in order to assist you here are the most commonly used websites that could be of help to you when attempting to value your standard or modified car as a saleable commodity.

 Glass's guide: http://www.glass.co....ons/Find-a-car/

 Parker's car guide: http://www.parkers.c...rs/prices/used/

Finally, thank you for your attention and co-operation.

#832454 Posting Spoiler Information In Topics, Please Read.

Posted Mike11 on 28 September 2013 - 12:38 PM

Thanks to Yorkshire Pudding for pointing this out, I thought I would put it here for people to see what to do.

Basically if you are going to post spoiler information, like what happens in a film, or game etc then please use the following code so only people who want to know without watching/playing etc can choose to view it. That way people can still talk about the topic without having the end or something spoilt.

To do this please use the following:

It will display like this:

#912011 Ffoc E-Shop (Your Attention)

Posted obasa on 09 March 2017 - 06:18 PM

Hi All,

I would like to advise you that since the recent hack to the website and FFPC E-shop unfortunately the shop has been badly damaged and I am unable to bring it back online at the moment.

Not only has the shop been affected but I believe you may find other aspects of the ffoc board not working properly such as emotions etc. I intend to address these as and when time allows.

I have only just gained access to the Admin part of the shop where I can see all the orders placed prior to the compromise and these are being addressed as speedily as possible.

Please bear with me while I undo extensive repair of the E-shop and hopefully get it back up and running.

I appreciate your patience.

Regards

#855286 Model Collections, Show Us Yours.... Picture Heavy....

Posted Daz07 on 09 March 2014 - 05:58 PM

Here you are then.  Like I said, I have recently gone back to collecting smaller models but this time concentrating on London Transport buses.  I have tried to get something from various eras up to the Routemaster.

Posted Image

From left to right.   First is a Leyland TD1, then a Guy Arab 2 utility bus, next is a AEC STL and on the end is a Leyland STD.

Posted Image
Posted Image

On the left is a Leyland RTL, in the middle is a RML Routemaster and on the right is a RMF Routemaster.

My favourite in this particular collection is this RT, limited run of 2400 from Corgi in 1;50 scale.

I have some others but I got those years ago so they are in the loft sadly.

No idea why I've not looked through this thread before, will need to read the whole lot when I get chance.
Got back from a holiday in Whinfell Center Parcs, these are some of the photo's we took. Obviously we had a variety of holiday snaps but also went for some arty shots. Not had the camera long, bought it for our honeymoon in July so still learning.
All photos are done hand held (need to get a tripod) on a Panasonic TZ40.

Tricky to get by hand at full zoom.

These were a pain to spot and get photos of without blur...managed to get shots of three different ones over the holiday though :D
