Can it be done on a Mk3 that doesn't have it?

Anyone attempted this mod?

Having got the connectors free i plugged the footwell light i have and no light. Checked with volt meter no voltage on any of the pins whether the voltage will appear if the bcm config is changed to enable ambient lighting i dont know.

So did you activate it on the software and it still didn't work?

I haven't even looked into the software bit yet. Still waiting for bits to get delivered to give it a go.

you fine making small adjustments to the config it,s only when trying to update things like the ipc software that you can run into problems

i haven't done a lot as i have a lot of everything already fitted from factory like the ambient lighting, which i plan to extend to the rear doors, i have used focccus to add that i have a towbar and trailer module and changed the wheel sizes, i have also been playing with a spare instrument cluster changing/update the software to add twin trip computer but this can take a couple of hours (built my own loom to do it out of the car) and can cause a dead dash if you get an error at 99% when flashing, it is repairable but you have to start the process again, not good if you need the car, also been able to change the mileage at the moment i have been able to reduce the mileage once but increase a number of times, i have been doing this with information from focusfanatics, also the bcm is where the the info is read from the ipc is just a backup

I see the ipc is a backup, i wonder if the ipc automaticaly gets written too once you have written to the bcm.

ok update decided to go ahead and change the config using the focccus after making a backup twice lol.
changed the aesthetic lighting to "ambient lighting single colour". wrote to bcm ( with heart rate running on overload lol).
it got 100% and completed car returned to normal. powered off then on went into forscan and checked for any DTC codes on both buses. non reported disconnected forscan and powered on car all o.k .

reran focccus to see if that change had actually been written and it had.

BUT the footwell lights are still not working i tested the lights on a transformer and they work fine. so abit more digging is required.
maybe i need to check the bcm once i work out where it is located.
