What is the easiest way to get to the indicator bulb in the mirror to change it? Without taking mirror glass off.

Sorted, I just moved the mirror out as far as it would go & used a pair of long nosed pliers to pull the bulb out. Then did the reverse to put bulb back in.

Anyone know the easiest way to remove the door mirror cap to change the plastic indicator lens?

Does it pop off using trim tools? Never removed one myself.

I only know that they are easy to put back on (my old fez one got dismantled by a coach). My brother broke his on a wheelie bin that was hanging out in the road, hence why I have asked.

Update:-
New indicator lens now fitted - only took 5 minutes. So easy to do too.

I would have done but my brother was watching & he is not the most patient person (& I wasn’t expecting it to be so easy). I am making fun of him atm because he wanted to pay the Ford dealers to change it for him but I said we can do it ourselves. He said that it would be a pain in the butt & was laughing at me but I got the last laugh in the end - especially when HE is the MECHANIC & I am a supermarket shelf stacker.

Ian, my brother is nearly 5 years older than me. He is quite patient but we have a nosey (& very jealous) neighbour & we wanted to get the job done while he was out the way.

In all fairness you did say your brother isn't the most patient so that's what I picked up on but yes it's funny how neighbours can be not like me as I'd of been out asking if you need a hand ha ha! .

Just trim tools? Do you take the wing mirror cover off first?

I just tilted the mirror down as far as it would go & you can then see the two top lugs. I used a small headed flat screwdriver to gently move the lugs & used my fingernail to gently pull the top cover upward & it came off. Then you have to release the spring clip on car end of the indicator lens & it should pull out. Then just clip new lens in (outer end first) & make sure it clips in, then put top cover back on.

Nicely put Mark although I guess that most male members on the forum  don't have finger nails long enough so will require trim removal tools .

I must admit that a lot of men chew their fingernails, I don’t but I am constantly breaking them while at work - not that I have long fingernails (not my thing).
