Started happening the past couple of days.

Come back to car and press open on the fob and the boot opens at the same time.

Thought nothing of it but now it happens every time i open the car with the fob AND when the start stop starts again after being at the lights or a junction.

Is this a key fob issue? Battery change required maybe?

Or have i inadvertently managed to activate some sort of global opening?

Any help for a fix would be greatly appreciated.

Take a look near the boot handle, water can get in it and cause a short. Happens on the Fiestas quite a bit from what I've read.

My previous fiesta did it every time I turned the ignition on. It was mainly when it was a wet day too.

I took the panel off the boot and cleaned the plug and connector to the boot opening mechanism and  ow it seems to only pop open with the Stop/Start.

Where exactly do you mean there would be a short by the handle? As in on the micro switch on the push button handle on the outside above the number plate?

Not too sure tbh, i never got round to sorting mine. I think it is the handle button. Some people have mentioned it happens a lot after washing so not sure if the pressure washers force water through it at the edge maybe.

I’ll have to investigate tomorrow when it’s light. Can’t be too difficult to take apart and have a look.

Thanks.

this is the led switch,

it needs to be removed from inside the handle not prised out like i tried hence having the pics, and buying a new switch, you can carefully prise off the lens, and then re seal it with 5 second fix
