i have had a search but while lots of gearbox, clutch and DMF related topics none quite matched my scenario

just got the car from private seller - and was driving fine - 62,000 miles and new MOT - when driving today had stopped to go into shop - back in and drove off - then a rattling (not clunk) noise started on deceleration - touch throttle and noise disappears - and car drives fine with no slipping or noise when under load -

no real noise when idling in neutral and engaging/disengaging clutch

thoughts are perhaps release bearing - but it is the noise on deceleration that is stumping me

any advice or suggestions welcome

Hi mate , tbh that does seem pretty weird but quite possible that it is the clutch release bearings or possibly the springs on the clutch plate have become worn .
