Hi Guys

What are your opinions about DPF.What does DPF stand for.

My mate got a garage and had a car with a faulty (or blocked) D.P.F. booked in for repair

he had a company called Terra Clean fix it at a cost of £150 compared to £1200 in a dealer`s

garage.

Has anybody had any dealings with this company .

Does the Terra Clean system actually do the job and how does it work.

It was also mentioned to give it a blast? would this clean out the D.P.F.

And the main thing that i should have said in the begining which is of more important to me

is does my MK2 1800 diesel have one.

Kelvin..

The 1.8 diesels don't have DPFs mate, the main reason they clog is if the car only does short journeys all the time and it can't regenerate itself. But after time it can't regen anymore so it needs replacing, all new diesels have them and it's one of the reasons I won't touch a diesel car ever again

As Daz says 1.8TDCi don't have a DPF.

Should you get one in the future you can also force a regeneration of the DPF and a good blast down the motorway at 70mph in 3rd gear will also clear the system out.

As for Terraclean, a few people on here have had this done and have reported great results, mainly for high mileage cars so depending on your mileage may be worth having it done.
