If you just fit it it'll put the engine management light on.You need to get the EGR mapped out of the ECU

hi, I have fitted a blanking plate to my mk2.5 tdci and its not thrown any lights up so far

It wont throw EML on on all cars, just some depending on emissions etc. A common way around this, if it does put the EML light on drill a 10mm hole through the centre of the blanking plate.

Fitted one to my 2.0 tdci and light came on 2 days after.

I fitted one to my 55plate 1.8 TDCI mk2 no error codes or lights, works like a dream.

No light on my 08 1.8 mk2 tdci either.  Seems to have cut out the haze I used to see when I booted it at night, other than that, not sure it's done a great deal.  Although the car only had 65k miles on it.
