  1. Both reversing lights are non functioning. Didn't think it would be both bulbs but replaced them anyway - it wasn't the bulbs. Is there a fuse for the reversing lights or is there a switch/actuator or similar that is activated when reverse is engaged? It is a 6 speed, 2.0 TDCi BTW. Any offers of help on this one?
  2. Agree that it should have lasted a lot longer but such is life. As another plus, the car is now ready at 12 noon. So I had it recovered in yesterday. Was inspected by 11 am and CRC offered goodwill by early afternoon. Ok'd this with the garage and they had it in as first job this morning. Glad I'm sitting down....

  4. I had a whole raft of electronic faults in my 04, 2.0 TDCi, that were finally sorted under warranty (just). Unfortunately they appeared again over the weekend, but of course they were attributed to something completely different - the alternator. 'That'll be £300 fitted sir' was the offer from Ford. I spoke to Ford CRC and within 30 minutes they came back with a 50% goodwill deal (the warranty ran out in June). I know a lot of people knock Ford and the CRC, but on this occasion, I was happy. Also mentioned (for the third time) the problems with the windows; alarm LED; flickering gauges etc. 'Could just be a fuse,' I said helpfully to the service desk guy.   7. I reckon that it's overpriced (even with the extras) if it's the original CMAX rather than the new model. Got to be worth a haggle for at least £750 off that price - they're hardly in short supply. Good luck.
  8. Ringways in Leeds have the appropriate four wheel alignment gear. Approx £30 - 40 for the set up. Worth doing when you get a new set of boots.
  9. Did the same with my Ghia and unfortunately had to pay Fraud - but it was worth the £50!!!!
  10. Could it be something as simple as vibration from another component? Think exhaust heatshield; any one of the bits of plastic covering around the engine bay etc. If it always happens at the same engine revs no matter which gear you're in then it sounds (no pun intended) then this could be the problem. Does it behave in the same way if you rev the engine while stationary?
  11. Test probe, multi-meter - way beyond my sphere of knowledge - so I'll wait for the dealer to evaluate. I presume that they will check the fuses (well I like to think they'd start with the simple stuff!!!) as part of the diagnostics. Will blown fuses show on the Ford diagnostic machine?

  13. Thanks Nick. I have reset all the windows as per the manual (twice in fact and still no luck with global close). Even though it went back to the dealer yesterday they still haven't sorted the problem with no alarm led; no global close; windows can be operated with no key in ignition; guage needles flicker and do not reset to zero. Fortunately they have cleared the EPB failure messages etc. The service manager thinks that the replacement part for the Sony radio fix will cure all of this. We'll see if he's right or whether CFC's suggestion of a blown fuse is the cause. As an aside, I no

  15. Funny that my global close doesn't work either!!!! I'll ask them to check this out - although they seem to get a bit funny when you present them with info like this (I'm only trying to help make their lives easier). Thanks Martin
