  1. I got the 1.8 Zetec s, on a mix of b, a roads and motorways I get 35-36 mpg, driving like miss daisy I can almost get 40mpg. 33 mpg is a bit low, have a moan to the dealer,
  2. I've had mk1 (Millennium), a mk2 (2.0 tdci titanium) and no got a mk2.5 (1.8 Zetec s), the mk 2s feel a bigger car with better sound deadening and a better road presence. Creaking normally indicates somethings been taken out or reworked and not put back in tightly. Or maybe you got a car made on a Monday morning?!
  3. Picked it up this morning!! Following 3 hours sleep after a night shift at Heathrow Airport! Photos coming soon!!
  4. I got it! 59 plate (registered 20/1/10) 1.8 Zetec-S 5 door in Ocean Blue with <180 miles on the clock. Photo's comming soon! Pick it up weekend after next! woo hoo!!
  5. I don't know if this is any use but, Back a couple of years back I tried to put diesel in my 1.8 Zetec powered millennium. Luckily I only managed to get a litre in there, called the RAC and the nice man told me I could have put 10% in there and got away with it. I filled upto the brim with normal Unleaded and suffered no problems what so ever!
  6. Just thinking its done 100k miles and don`t want to start spending big money on DMFs etc!
  7. And you know cos you`ve got a 2.0TDCi?
  8. Hardly hold their value that well as been offered £3,300 for my '05 2.0TDCi titanium which has full Ford service history and Emmaculate condition!!. I currently go through front tyres in about 8 - 10k miles so was looking for something with a little less torque!!!! I`ve just found a '10 model ('59 plate) 1.8 zetec (which I had in my Mk1 Millennium) for £11,999 which I may be tempted with!
  9. I was using the 2.0TDCi for a lot of mileage with work so needed the mid range for the motoway mileage and the economy I was doing but I've knocked using my own car on the head for works use. I would like the 1.6TDCi Zetec-s but they are like rocking horse waste to get hold of and the 1.8 is the old ford lump (not as good as 1.6 and its £35 a year tax), I can`t warrant a 2.0TDCi Zetec-s so its either the 1.6 or 1.8 petrol.
  10. I've currently got '05 plate 2.0TDCi 3 door Titanium and she'd comming upto 100k miles so time for a change! I've got a hankering for a 1.6 (Petrol) Zetec-S on 09 or 59 plate. Whats peoples thoughts?
  11. Ford must have escallated to more models in the range! or got the worst ones done 1st!
  12. Ford contact the DVLA to get the current owners details, I`m the 2nd owner of mine! If your car is effected you get a letter! If the letter goes to the wrong person theres a SAE and a form to fill in with the correct details. Rest assured, You`ll get a letter if your cars effected!
  13. I got my letter this morning! at least they're on the ball. Will try and book mine at a local dealers for a week tuesday. Gives me an excuse not to go to work and attend an interview for a new job!
  14. Need to be carefull "changing gears" whilst the clutch is still engaged, can cause a great deal of wear on the Synchromesh`s and new hearboxes are none too cheap!!
  15. It may be down to Fuelling/engine control in the ECU. I think the Mk1 had a cable driven trottle body which had a seperate port for ICV (Idle control Valve) where the Mk2s have a motor driven Throtle body so its all down to the ECU, How does the car idle?
  16. `05 plate Mk2 2.0 TDCi Titanium at 82k Miles and passed its MOT last week with flying colours!
  17. The best way of getting results after major modifications (i.e. Manifolds and Exhausts) is a live remap. Bluefin/Superchips uses a generic map and thus expecting the 10% increase they spec. on a standard car would not be realised. Live mapping is much more expensive, as who ever does it looks at your car spec, driving style and expectations and makes live changes to the maps i.e. a Bespoke map for the car. The costs involved would be far more than a Bluefin which is chipping for the masses and a budget!!!
  18. The Bluefin device reads the Serial number of the ECU the first time its plugged in and thus is locked to it. People have bought 2nd hand Bluefin units and sent them to Superchip[s for reprogramming but works out more expensive than a new one. FFOC have got good prices with Superchips, contact them for details!
  19. Plus if you have any problems with the remap superchips will look at your map and modify it, You use the Bluefin to put the newly modified map in. I've had superchips look at my TDCi maps after changing the EGR, Brill service by Superchips. :D :D
  20. Also out of warranty they find work that isn't actually required! I had my car serviced (Mionor Service) 6 months back and the list of work included:- Front and Rear Disks under thickness Front and rear Pads under thickness Play in Rear OS Wheel Bearing and thus requires replacing Full set of wiper blades. I was concerned over the amount of work so took the car to a big name in the high street who told me the brakes are fine but they would change them if I wanted (Der? NO!) and they couldn`t find any play or tightness what so ever in any of the wheel bearings! I did buy the wiper blades o
  21. Ford are just like eneryone else, Once they`ve sold the item to you they don`t want to help you. They have after sales support because they have to, to attract you to buy the car in the first place. Once you`ve parted with your cash you become a hinderence to them then!
  22. I got the 900BT fitted which displays the time! As below (11 minutes past 5):- Not sure if the 700 displays the time though?!?
  23. get a new antenna base!!!! I replaced mine shortly after buying my `05 titanium after the previous owner butchered it putting a Halfrawds Cack antenna on. As "Rev" said tighten up, I wouldn`t use any sealant though. No matter how little you put on it would squeeze out and look aweful! I replaced my base (about £8 from fords) with a brand new one that comes with a new rubber gasket. Simply remove old one, Clean the roof area (outside) of all the debris thats collected there and replace with brand new shiney one! Did the trick on mine! Think you`ll need a Torx T20 or T25 bit though!
  24. Ahhhrrrrrrrr Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeenn!!!
