  1. should have been done as part of the Ford Tech Notification, i had mine done under warranty when i had my MK2, mind you that was also when my 2nd piston developed a micro fracture and blew out 4 spark plugs and made a nice mess of the engine bay/bonnet. First thing Ford UK asked, was if the washer jets the new seal fitting, as water leaking directly onto the engine could cause some problems.
  2. not sure mate, i have the Sony DAB unit in my Focus, but i don't have the BT kit, but the phone buttons are on the unit, when i press them it just mutes the audio, but can't link anything. I suppose there might a connector for the BT cable/link, Tezza might be able to confirm.
  3. good to know, my seat squeaks a bit when cornering, might be the same spring, only started doing it.
  4. adjusted they may be, but you may find yourself getting flashed a lot. also watch for overheating, which will damage the clear plastic headlight cover -- which happened to me with powerful sidelights and now i have a clouded white area where my side light is.
  5. get a MK2.5 with Sports pack (with Y spoke alloys), and it will look far better than any non-ST MK2. to my knowledge, the Sports pack is only on 1.8 and 2.0 models. as for the MK3, sorry can't love this car, rear end is so very not a Focus, and looks to be made to appease the US market.....bah. Plus no Sea Grey, who in their right mind would opt for Candy Yellow/Red??? That said i would love to have the MK3 interior inside my MK2.5 2.0 TDCI Titanium.
  6. the MK3 def. needs something ti lift it, its just plain bad as it is, what were they thinking, it might go down better in US, but Europe has standards....:)
  7. my local dealer is saying they have been told its the 2nd week of November, but is subject to mass production of the engines required. they are also concerned about the lack of sales for the new Focus, most folk seem to be going for the Ka/Fiesta option.
  8. no Sea Grey, off to a bad start. also add the cost of Titanium X and you still need to add Cruise control, as its NOT standard. Ask for 2.0 & Powershift and kiss goodbye to about 24k.
  9. yep the Y spoke alloys are great, std on the MK2.5 Titanium Sport pack models - 18" though. what are the extra side/front bumper kits added?? also seen a lot of Zetecs with the grey back end, again is that a std part with the car or an add-on. DRUM - nice exhaust system.
  10. Jbeer, same here, wanted the Sports Pack on my Titanium to get the best Ford alloys i have ever seen. Got my FD car from Jennings in Newcastle, long drive from Aberdeen, but no suppliers in Scotland could get me a Sea Grey 2.0L Titanium with Sports Pack, added bonus with rear parking sensors and climate control. SD, i would consider any Titanium, but only the 1.8 & 2.0 have Sport Pack option if i recall. Check out the Jennings site - http://www.jenningsforddirect.co.uk/
  11. April 2011. November 2011 i think for the ST and 2.0L Petrol version.
  12. last weeks mag had the full review, and comparison review with Golf and Astra.......Focus came first, but some minor reservations about handling, due to electronic steering rather than hydraulic i believe. Also smaller boot. Astra came last for many many issues... :P
  13. 2nd that, interior is what we should have had for the MK2 facelift. New MK3 outside style/design is fine for the Yanks/Chinese, but not for the Euro market who have had 4 types/designs of Focus since its launch. Poor show, but not too concerned, only got my MK2.5 a year ago, so it will be 3 yrs (touchwood) before i have to think about my next one, unless i win the lottery, then it will be ST's for everyone!!! Perhaps the MK3 facelift will be out when i'm due to upgrade... :o
  14. likewise, just got my 09 Titanium TDCi, so it will be 2014 before i'm looking to change, and i'm not liking the rear of the car, but the inside is a geek's dream come true......and finally BLUE led lights, not red!
  15. i was away to say i have the Hayes book for the 2.5. remember there are 2 fuse boxes, one in the glove box and the other in the right side of the engine bay.
  16. get it checked for gas levels and leaks, you need to be using it at least 30mins each month -- either heat or cool, doesn't matter.
  17. i got genuine rubber ones with the fixing points on the driver side, had them in my prev MK2 and they fit my MK2.5 too -- easy to clean, better heal grip and no loose black fibres that you get with the carpet ones.
  18. thanks RB2004 for clearing that up.....just waiting on getting my panel filter swapped for the cone one -- i have a large plastic cover over my 2.0 TDCI, i assume you just removed yours for the pics? i have found 5 bolts, 4 around the top of the air-filter, and one on the side about 2 inches down where the Turbo pipe connects - does this need to be removed, or just the 4 top bolts?
  19. turns out to take the same K&N unit that fits in the new Focus RS http://www.knfilters.com/search/product ... rod=E-2993 Guys at Rude Racing have been great and i can send back the panel filter for the new cone shaped one. now does anyone have a guide how to get the airbox open, am i right in assuming that there 4 screws/bolts around the top and one at the side in which I need to remove the engine cover???
  20. Used to have a K&N filter in my MK2 Focus, and wanted to fit the same to my new MK2.5 TDCI. Order the filter from the usual good FFOC supplier - Rude Racing (used to be ESP Design), and Karl had one left in stock, which arrived last week, just before i went to pick up the new car from Jennings. Got the first dry day today, and opened the 2.0 TDCI engine bay to discover a massive plastic cover over the engine (looks cool and very clean), however the air filter unit does not look anything like the manual shows, all images look like the normal rectangular MK2 air box, the one i have in fro
  21. yes they seem standard on the Titanium models, not sure about the Zetec ones.
  22. I haven't seen them either and I now have an 09 Titanium TDCI.
  23. agree, i just swapped from a 1.6 petrol MK2 to 2.0 TDCI MK2.5 -- what a difference, and really pulls you back into your seat when the turbo kicks in. my 1.6 struggled with a car load of folk, or going up steep hills.
  24. check the carpet is not damp.....you can get moisture absorber stuff too, but its just something you need to get used to in winter. i find using the heat directed at the floor helps a bit.
  25. i had to drive my MKII Ghia to Newcastle last Saturday from Aberdeen, roads were fine until Berwick on A1 -- 15 miles of crapping myself going head to head with lorries and icy road. If i gripped the wheel any harder, i would have left prints. On the way back in the new MKII.5 TDCI and decent ESP/TA and bigger wheels, much better drive back. Was happy once i was back in Scotland. Car performed really well.
