  1. Can't help with the lights but I have had the same problem with the locks - i figured out I was probably pressing the lock button on the key as i was rotating it to switch the car off - might be worth checking! (It might be that this is not what is happening to mine, and in fact there might be a fault, but it's the most logical explanation i can think of)
  2. I had this - as long as your vehicle is less than a year old you're covered by interior trim warranty - get them to fix it! If not, I am open to suggestions - as mine have started doing it again...!
  3. A few weeks ago I was forced to take avoiding action from a car coming my way in the middle of the road. Slammed the left side of the car through a pothole. Buckled nearside front wheel. Got a vibration whenever I neared 80mph (abroad, of course...! ;) ) Had the wheel replaced, balancing and tracking all done, BUT There is still a vibration. Again from about 70-75 upwards. Seems to be coming through the body/seat rather than the steering wheel. The car is going in on Thursday 8th, but anyone here have any thoughts? Please tell me I don't have suspension damage! I am keen not to keep thro
  4. Erm, you sure about that? It's actually more akin to Mondeo/Galaxy, with a huge number of parts shared with Galaxy, it has a 'CD' moniker (can never remember if its CD340 or CD345 - one of them is S-MAX the other is new Mondeo), it's built down the same line as Mondeo and new Galaxy at Genk.... I would say describing it as a Focus is rather tenuous..!
  5. Im not the only one then - thank you! Rear brake discs replaced at 25k with EPB. Since then they squeal occasionally - but not jsut when braking. I get a whistle from time to time when just driving along - a dab on the brake pedal kills it...for a time... Have taken it in but they can't replicate :o(
  6. I'd just like to add that I had this work done back in September and the door seals have not creaked since.
  7. Heh this one comes along every few months. Had my seals replaced and doors adjusted and it's been absolutely creak-free since. Took the dealer several attempts tho - due to missing parts and also 'forgetting' to do it. Muppets.
  8. I have to add my 2p worth to the foglight debate. I confess when I was driving Mondeos (one Zetec and one Ghia), I found the standard (non-xenon) headlights to be so rubbish that I drove with the foglamps on so I could actually see. My ST170 and now C-MAX had and has xenons and I think I've used the fogs maybe once... So sometimes it's a case of necessity...
  9. Im not sure if the door seal fix is covered or not but there is a TSB so maybe it is - mine is over a year old and just had them done. Do not know the TSB number but there are two fixes: both should be done. 1) Replacement door seals 2) Re-hanging of doors so that they do not apply as much pressure against the door apertures.
  10. One note about paint treatment. For me it is well worth it, as it seems to prevent the 'hairline scratches that only appear when the sun is at the right angle' all over the car caused by waxing. Or am I just rubbish at waxing? Seriously, if anyone can tell me how to wax a car without getting these 'optical illusions' in the surface, I'd be really grateful to know. Hard to describe what I mean, but you know the ones, the sun's shining, you move your head from side to side and there they are, all over the car. What we need is the manufacturers to put a paint treatment on at the factory t
  11. Its a year old now and 14,000 miles and i haven't noticed it lately. Will continue to keep an eye out.
  12. Only issue i get is in 3rd/4th/5th hesitation around 2500 revs, it 'wobbles' a bit, then continues on...
  13. Wouldnt be surprised if the reservoir/pump is different - mine's going in next week cos the front and rear windscreen jets have died (for the second time) but the light wash still works...
  14. the bumpers just have a little hole cut in them for the mechanism to pop through and are finished off with a nice body-coloured cap. Xenons have to have powerwash as per EU legislation due to strict controls on the beam pattern and the effect that dirt particles could have upon it.
  15. If you have xenons the jetwash comes as standard
