  1. Wasn't possible with my 1.6 LX TDCi. The wiring loom wasn't there ready to take the AUX IN part. I was quoted an hours labour plus the wiring loom to get it working with the 6000CD (CDDJ type). If you have a higher spec model vehicle, then you should have the loom sat waiting for a connection - take the glove box out (7 or so star type screws). Then you should find the loom (if there) taped up in the top somewhere. Thanks for other board members for all pointers when I was looking at adding the same function :D
  2. Fully agree - wish the budget had been more accomodating this time round !
  3. In upgrading to a MK2 LX, it's been kind of like a downgrade as I had a MK1 Ghia ! Wasn't my choice - company vehicle you see
  4. 1> Agreed - it's the same stuff that I disliked so much on a cheap courtesy KA I once had ! 2> I miss this (had a MK1 Ghia before the 2005 LX) 3> Agreed. 4> Agreed. 5> Agreed - drinks bottle slipped in the door so conveniently on the MK1 - now it gets in the way in the centre console due to point number 8 ! 6> Compared to the MK1, it does feel like you are more "down inside" the dash. 8> Agreed. I also miss the dashboard button to open the boot. Despite agreeing with most points listed, I do however quite like my new MK2. Having got back into a colleagues MK1 briefly
  5. This is now sorted - they reseated all the arial connectors whilst it was in to have the windscreen seal redone :0)
  6. It's been in to have the windscreen seal redone today, & whilst in the guy's had a look & has confirmed they will need to run a wiring loom for the AUX IN part. Have been quoted an hours time at £82.00 + VAT to do this which includes reprogramming the 6000CD system. Gonna have to wait till a later date to have this done as I can't put it through on the company account ! It's also been confirmed that the "indicators not always cancelling until a few clicks after I turned it off" is a lane changing safety feature which they've had many drivers report to date !
  7. That's one I forgot - booked in for next week to have all the seal redone ! Have also experienced something similar with the indicators - when turning left, it seems to carry on for a few clicks after I've cancelled it ! Right cancels straight away !
  8. Had it all out today, & it appears to be the same for me  Only had it 5 days, now done 600 miles - having no MP3 player & the poor AM reception (Talk Sport / Five Live listener) is driving me crazy !!! Maybe I need to see if Ford to fit the loom part ?!
  9. I thought that, but, it was nearer the front of the glovebox on mine when i took it out. Just pull of the tape and it hangs free like a scotsman's balls!! Had it all out today, but nothing loose or taped up. Maybe I need to get Ford to fit the loom part ?! I have an LX model, with the 6000CD with the centrally located On/Off/Volume, & a CDDJ button, not CD/AUX.
  10. LX model - handbrake position slightly awkward, "wobble" in glass of rear windscreen, poor AM radio reception, no AUX wiring loom behind the glovebox to enable connection of external MP3 player. That's about it for me, though only had it 4 days !
  11. Thanks to all for the pointers so far - didn't get chance last night though will make sure I do tonight :D
  12. 1.6 TDCi LX 110 for me - as mentioned by another board member it's a paid for work tool for me too :D
  13. Further Info - the 6000CD system fitted is the version with the centrally located On/Off/Volume control. I can see that this version doesn't have a CD/AUX button as detailed in the Audio Guide, though it does have a CDDJ button - is this just a source selector that will perform the same function ? There is a circular area in the back of the glove box, though it's not something that will pop out. I believe I will need to take the glove box out by removing the star screws on the front. Can anyone confirm this as I don't want to start removing parts unnecessarily !
  14. Right then, got the car :D , got the part :D , but the garage said they didn't know how to fix it ! The part I've been given is as listed above. Kind of a plastic barrel type arrangement with AUX IN printed one end (a jack type socket), & the other end has a 4 pin plug. Excuse my complete novice-ness (!), but where should I be fitting this part ? I'm thinking I may also need an additional cable to go from part 1310208, into the back of the glove box as mentioned in an earlier post ?! I have a jack plug to jack plug that will run from the AUX IN end of the subject part into my MP3
  15. I pick up my 55 plate new shape Focus today & opted for the space saver spare wheel - makes so much difference !!
