  1. Thanks Tezza, will bear that in mind. Still not as cheap as E bay !!!
  2. I checked price at our local Halfords, according to them Bosch do not do them for CMAX, only for Focus, but the Halfords replacement for CMAX is SET 103 price £37.98 so a £20.00 saving on genuine Ford, but still a lot more than the £20.00 E bay price, but is it worth the risk buying on line, if there is a problem !!!!!!!!!!!!. What do you all think ??
  3. Thanks for that, I will check Halfords out and let you all know.
  4. My 03 CMax front wiper blades need replacing, Ford dealer price £57.00. Item 370031241152 price £14.99 + £3.49 p&p on Ebay. Has anyone bought similar from Ebay or elsewhere, any info would be appreciated, Thank you.
  5. Hi Baldie, Prices I was charged to fix similar problem by my local family Ford dealer (not one of the BIG NATIONAL MEGA DEALERSHIPS) was £100.00 plus VAT for the battery, can be obtained cheaper on the web, the altenator was still under warranty but would have cost me about £220.00 plus VAT, so you should have lots left from your grand estimate, good luck.
  6. No wonder you are confused with the Ford dealers message, as you state the AA man jump started it, so that does not indicate fuel pump. My feeling is that it is the battery, same as my problem, also if the altenator is still whining that also needs attention, maybe the altenator is not charging 100% and the battery is not holding the charge. As your vehicle is out of warranty I guess you will have to replace the battery at your own cost (Idid) but check the internet for best price. Then see if altenator keeps battery fully charged before replacing altenator, I certainly would contact Ford to a
  7. I would certainly complain, I do not remember having to change a faulty alternator on any car I have ever owned, to my thinking your dealer and Ford must be aware of this "problem"!. My guess is that you and me cannot be just unlucky. The whiny noise just increased and could clearly be heard most of the time, seems to me like a faulty bearing, maybe another FFOC member could confirm. Good luck, complain to your dealer if you have no luck complain direct to Ford, other FFOC member may be able to advise the correct procedure. Let me know what happens.
  8. My 04 reg 2.0 TDCI had identical problem, the altenator was replaced under warranty, (price approx £200) I also paid for a new Ford battery with a 3 year warranty, since then no problems, I would suggest you contact your Ford dealer as this looks like a known problem with 2.0 TDCI i am sure they are aware of it anyway. As I was waiting to collect my vehicle another guy arrived and he had the same problem, so it must be a common fault !!. Good luck
  9. Booth, Thanks for your reply to my EPB problem. My local family run Ford dealer, who I have every confidence tell me that the EPB has been recalibrated and is now working ok. As this was an intermittant fault only time will tell !!
  10. My 53 reg 04 CMax 2.0 Ghia has developed an intemittant fault, the EPB will not release when activated, taking sometimes 3 times touching the release pad.Does anyone know if this is a common fault !! The car is booked for a service in a couple of days and any info would be appreciated.
  11. I have a 53 regd 2.0 tdci, the rear parking sensors have developted an intermittant fault, as soon as reverse is engaged the sensors emmit a continual tone, even if nothing is close behind. The "fault"rights itself in time and the sensors works correctly, is this a common "fault", as a friend had a Galaxy wiith the same symptoms, a guy I know who works at a Ford dealer thought the problem maybe moisture getting into the connection behind the bumper. Has anyone else had this problem, if so what was the cure?. When I went back to the dealer to check it out, sods law the sensors worked fine, no f
  12. I have a 04, 53 plate 2.0 tdci, the rear parking sensors have developed an intermittant fault, as soon as reverse is engaged the sensors emmit a continual tone even if nothing is close to. This "fault" rights its self in time and the sensors work correctly again. Is this "fault" a common one as a friend had a Ford Galaxy which did the same, a chap I know who works at a Ford dealer thought the problem may be to do with connection behind the bumper letting moisture in. Has anyone else had this problem, if so what was the cure ?. When I went back to the dealer, sods law it worked fine, no fault f
  13. Hi, I have a 04, 53 reg and just a couple of weeks ago mine developed the exact same symptons, also a message appeared informing of E P B fault. The local dealer Ford dealer checked it over and said it was ok, the battery warning light was not showing and the E P B mesage had gone, the whine was still there and they asked me to call back if it persisted, it did !! so it was booked in and a new alternator was fitted, problem solved, but as I still have Ford Protect warranty until Aug 08, no charge other wise they informed same price just over £200. While I was at the dealer another chap came i
