  1. I had this same nasty problem which lingered for about a month after it first occurred. Then just as we were about to go on a two week camping holiday in france last month (and were dreading the smell in the heat!) it miraculously vanished!
  2. "revolting smells from C MAX " http://www.ffoc.co.uk/modules.php?name= ... 65#1570565 ...Sorry but I couldn't help but think these two posts were some how linked going by the thread titles!
  3. "Strange discovery in rear seats!!! " http://www.ffoc.co.uk/modules.php?name= ... c&t=160705 ...Sorry but I couldn't help but think these two posts were some how linked going by the thread titles!
  4. I notice this more on cold start but i often find first gear quite stiff to find, needing what seems more than usual effort to push it in. Is this down to just a cold engine / gearbox, or something i should have looked at?
  5. What would be ideal is a gps / mobile mount that fits into the totally redundant in my book card / car park ticket holder slots!
  6. had new c-max for aroud a month now. one thing i notice which i havent on previous admiteddly lighter cars, is the pale whitish water marks where the rain has run down the back of the car. anyone else notice this?!
  7. Yep that sounds like the best plan, thanks for all your advice !
  8. I have a tomtom one which has a suction mount that sticks to the windscreen, and given the c-max windscreen is so steeply raked i have to mount if quite a distance from me and often its in direct sunlight making it hard to read. additionally the suction mount isnt all that efficient and often falls off during driving which again it quite a reach to put it back on especially whilst on the move. just wondered if anyone had any alternative tips on where to mount a satnav unit on their c-max?!
  9. Well yes that is of course also true, you'd have to hunt around quite a bit for a closest spec. When we were enquiring originally we were told we'd couldnt have a 'made to order' model as there werent any in the factory, however we could if we wanted have one in a totally different colour/trim/price and without the spec we wanted. great!
  10. You could always wait, and go for a say a 6 month old one if you didn't like the new model of course. From what I've seen, and it isn't a great deal, it does look very much like a shorter version of the s-max, so if you like the look of that......
  11. I bought a new c-max last month (old version) and was in a slight quandry whether to wait for the new model. however ford are currently (or at least were last month) discounting certainly the zetec range of old c-max. they wont say when the new model comes out but i heard June somewhere. The question is seeing as the engines will remain unchanged, whether you want the updated body style and interior trim enough to spend very close to list price in june, or buy one now, and feasibly get a very decent discount (i had about 2.5k off list price and a privilege discount of 1.5k). 12. I get this noise in the van & C-Max. But only when the wife or kids are with me That's a class response Andy! :D lol Thanks FFC, I'll see how it continues and then reluctantly take it along to the de\aler if it continues.
  13. Thanks for reply. It's a 1.8tdci. Air con was off. Where's/what's the airbox?!
  14. I noticed this morning on our new c-max, which is only at 600 miles, theres a strange low level whining noise coming from the engine. It's a low whistle / whine, which I realise is going to be hard to diagnose on here but thought someone might recognise it! The only way i can describe it is like a falling/rising note, similar to the noise you sometimes get with cars when the radio picks up the transmission, although it doesnt increase with acceleration as that noise might. (can hear the noise with the radio off incidentally.) Another way I might describe it, is if you own a Dyson vaccum cle
