Hi Car was in today to get the hesitation problem investigated. From what I have read on here others are having a similiar problem. Anyway apparently there was an error code stored in the cars ECU and it pointed to the fault being on a sensor, CP.....blah...blah or something. So the part is on order and the car will be worked on again soon. I'll keep you posted. I hope this will finally be an end to my troubles with this car. In the meantime I'm test driving every car on the market I fancy as a replacement. That's confidence for you! The new Golf GTi is brilliant BTW so is the new Lexus

Mastertech thanks for the info. Is the need to reset these values something written in Ford's instructions to techs fitting the new EGR valves? Also if the work is carried out to the letter does it completely fix the known EGR issue because alas I'm rapidly losing my faith in the C-Max. I was planning on holding onto it for a while yet and I really could do without the financial hit of getting a new car to replace it!! Thanks in advance for any advice. Cheers Peter

A new EGR was fitted a few weeks back under warranty. Initially I thought everything was back to normal but within a day or so I noticed something new and undesirable was happening while driving. Basically since the new EGR valve was fitted the car stutters away from standstill and only begins acting normally when up above 2k revs. My wife confirmed that she was experiencing the same thing so I know I'm not imagining it! Guys I've noticed during the past few days that my cmax is doing something strange while at cruising speeds. Basically for no apparent reason it feels like the brakes have been applied for a second and then things go back to normal. While this happens I'm aware that an orange light comes on beside the speedometer. It has only happened a few times and the car seems fine 99.9% of the time. Hope it's nothing serious. I've booked it in for a check-up anyway. What could be causing it? Has anyone on here experienced this before? Any help would appreciated. Regards Peter

Hi My C-Max 2.0TDCi had a new EGR fitted about 6-7 months ago after the car developed a fault. Is this EGR likely to be a modified one?? Cheers Peter

Hi I've been trying to find out how I can get my Zetec fitted with the Ultima or lookalike body kit. I left it in the hands of my dealer but after several phone calls to them for an update I am still no nearer a result. Before I start the process of phoning round the local Ford dealers, has anyone on here had this work carried out? If so, who did the work, what is fitted and how much was it? Well, finally the work has been carried out to stop the creaking noises. When I took the car into the dealer initially, a mechanic came out on a short test drive to see if he could isolate the cause of the problem. And thankfully he did hear the same noises as I had reported (sometimes your not sure if you are listening too closely) and ordered some replacement parts. The parts ordered were the new design of front suspension bump-stops. The mechanic had had experience of this in the past with early C-Max's. Rich I have exactly the same problem on my 2.0TDCi especially at low speed. It's booked in on Friday so hopefully they will get to the bottom of it then. Incidentally while I was on the phone to the dealer they mentioned that they would also be carrying out another software upgrade. I had the up-to-date versions of ECU and cluster software installed a couple of months back. Has anyone else had this newer version installed in their C-Max and what does it fix? Hi I, like many others have reported the problem with the brakes on the C-Max squealing while reversing. Up until now I was informed that Ford had recognised the problem but a fix was not yet available. So I was surprised when my dealer contacted me to let me know that a new fix is available. I booked my car in and awaited the results. When I arrived at the dealer on the day, out of curiosity I asked what exactly the fix was. I have read the postings on here regarding the Autolocking feature on the C-Max with great interest. So when my car was in today getting mudflaps fitted I asked for the feature to be turned on. When my car was ready the dealership phoned me and also informed me they hadn't been able to setup the autolocking because they didn't know how to!
