new Focus ST traction control
thekirbyfake replied to sneakyST's topic in MK2 - Ford Focus 2005 > 2011
I have no doubt you will beat me at the lights. After all, you sound like an extremely talented and intelligent person. However, that still doesn't have anything to do with your "fact" that the esp reduces the amount of turbo used. If the wheels are spinning or you lose yaw traction the power will be released and individual wheels will have the brakes applied. If the wheels are not spinning then the turbo can do what it likes, esp or no esp. Drive carefully. -

Wouldn't mind knowing more about this. Can you control the ipod from an external control? Does it power/charge the unit?

starting to get fed up with waiting
thekirbyfake replied to ken's topic in MK2 - Ford Focus 2005 > 2011
Aggressive with YOU?! Really sorry to hear about your woes guys. As GK said the wait is bad enough but the lack of info must be truly infuriating. Has anyone approached CAB about this and the deposit issue? Perhaps some legal info would scare them into action? -
Pics of my Sea Grey ST (at last!!!)

Nice one SUGG Pic 3 is brilliant -
Apart from the Independent Control Blade multi-link rear suspension. Prior to the new Golf stealing this costly alternative from the Focus it's well known that it handled like a ship at sea! VW nabbed a couple of the Ford engineers to work on the MkV Golf, hence the independent control blade multi-link rear suspension and the fact that the new Golf handles brilliantly compared to the older models. I've also recently changed from an old Focus to a new Focus and whilst performance, build quality, noise and ride have been upgraded, I definitely think I've taken a step back in terms o

Certainly is. Lift off and you get all sorts of noises between a wastegate chatter and a full-on WRC BANG.

It's the turbo. Ford have tuned acoustics to channel good sounds (turbo whistle, exhaust and engine noise) into the car and keep bad sounds (wind and road noise) out.

E-mail from broker explaining new ST delays

Light at the end of the tunnel? I picked up my P Blue ST2 yesterday after ordering via UK Car Broker. They still have a couple available in stock on their web site I paid just under the advertised price. Am I happy? -

ST discounts at dealers
thekirbyfake replied to thekirbyfake's topic in MK2 - Ford Focus 2005 > 2011
This is a fair point. He was keen to get the order signed and the car registered by the end of the month. Not that I'm going with this deal because I'm sticking with my brokered discount. I was simply trying to benchmark. -
ST discounts at dealers

It was/is an unregistered delivery mileage ST2 in Performance Blue. Very unpopular  The dealer in question is Platts of Marlow who also have some other specs in stock, a few of them in that unpopular blue -
I've just been offered 5% (£950) off an unregistered in stock ST2 at a franchise dealer. This was straight off the bat and before I'd even started to negotiate. He's also offered me pretty much the CAP value for my trade in. Has the bubble burst?
