  1. Mine had exactly the same problem. It was picked up during the PDI - apparently there is a "bendy" bend to fit reinforced hose which was rubbing against something and needed to be replaced! Andy
  2. Mastertech, if you could post some pictures of a problem EGR compared to the new model, Id be really keen to see the difference and see what the little blighter actually looks like! Andy
  3. Cheers Mastertech, They did it for me yesterday while it was in getting the new EGR fitted, andy
  4. Im a straight, happily married guy but Ive never seen so much of another fellas knob before...... I wont sleep tonight, its so shiny  Andy
  5. Here you go mate - the lockwoods are superb quality. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Lockwood-Door-Sil ... dZViewItem Andy
  6. Mines definitely the modded part - its a 2005 (55) model. Hope yours keeps playing the game Onslowe. I know of several people who have older C Max 2.0tdcis and have had no EGR problems at all! Andy
  7. Picked up the car this afternoon following fitting of the new EGR..... :D Runs great, a massive improvement! Time will tell, but on first impressions, Im very happy! Hopefully, this will be the last post I need to make on EGR problems, as it has been the bain of my life for the past 8 months. Of course, being British, I now need something else to moan about.......Creaking door seals anyone??? Thanks to Mastertech for all the help/advice, made me wait for the new EGR and saved me making the mistake of changing cars when mine broke down for around the 15th time! Andy
  8. Cheers guys, that answers my questions. Im due to get my car back this afternoon and judging by your responses, this should be an end to my problems! Mastertech, keep up the good work - it annoys me to see the battles people bring you into. I appreciate you must have brand loyalty, but also appreciate you telling it like it is and giving us the info to take to our dealers, saving on arguments and wasted time, Nice one mate  Andy
  9. Mastertech, Im delighted at the information you post on this forum, it really helps when trying to get faults diagnosed at the dealers. I have one question though - no faults of the EGR in 3 months of production is fine, but my concern is...what about faults in cars that have had the problems and now had the new EGR fix? Mines in the garage now to get done. Im fairly confident that it will be an end to my woes, but looking around the posts on this forum, its a little confusing...people saying they have had the fix and it hasnt worked? However, on investigation it seems they maybe didnt actual
  10. I was hoping for something more permanent! Andy
  11. Anyone ever manage to get theirs sorted? Mine still pops up whenever I go on the motorway and Ive not heard anyone mentioning theirs recently. If anyone got it fixed, what was done? Thanks Andy
  12. apparently so!!!!!!!! Anyway, just got off the phone from my dealer, dealt with the dealership manager who seems to be the man that can make descisions (Mr Reid of Perrys Ford High Wycombe - definitely the man to deal with). He agrees that my EGR needs replacing and is ordering a new one. Fingers crossed this time next week (assuming the EGRs aren't on back order - mastertech any idea off the top of your head?), my problems should be solved and I can forget any thoughts of changing to a Fiesta ST. I was really lovin the Fiesta after driving one, but I just dont know if I could li
  13. ?????? I seem to remember you directed me to CD41?? Anyway, after having it installed, there was a definite difference in that the you could hear the EGR clicking to clean itself when the car was turned off. However, with the re-emergence of the problem, I cant hear the click anymore! the valve must be gunked up pretty badly! Andy
  14. Just to get back on track with this post..... After my 2.0tdci running great following the installation of CD41, I thought my ridiculous amount of EGR problems were over....... Anyway, 2 months after the software "fix", the EGR is back up to its old tricks. I can honestly say, that in 20 years of car ownership, this is the best driving car I have ever owned, but the most unreliable bar none. I now have to go into my local Ford garage which means trying to get a couple of hours off work, just to convince them to order me a remodelled EGR. Then more time off work for them to fi
  15. Nice one mate, Im loving the colour. I wish it was available when I ordered my 2005 focus in Jeans Blue. Hope you dont need to visit the garage too often! Regards Andy
