  1. Tnx for that OptiX2k, and imo to surpass you have to change now... and for Ford that will have to mean AWD (otherwise they will end up with something like the VXR which wastes its power due to the fact it cant put it down) I also think its worth saying on both cars that they should be seen as a real acomplishment to modern engineering and chassis design, take a look back 15yrs ago... if you had told someone you were gonna make a car with 220bhp and 240lbs/ft torque and then put it through the front wheels they would have laughed for weeks... the RS and the ST have proved that with the right
  2. have you driven a RS? From driving both cars.. (all be it for a short time).. the RS felt much more capable along a twisty road than the ST with the diff controlling the car in all the right places. The ST felt like it didnt mind if you made a wrong decision about the gear you were in too much on the exit... where as the RS wouldnt be happy if you were a cog too high and was begging to be dropped down one.
  3. Jus FYI guys, i believe the only reason foobar_666uk even considered writing this report on the above question was due to the fact i asked the question and need some honest opinions to make a decision. Im 22, a Sales Account Manager for a very very large company, I wear suits to work and quite regulary have to visit clients whilst maintaining a professional image, im single (choice  ) and about as far from a 'Boy Racer' as you could get i think... but... I live 3-5 miles from work (dependant on route), i love driving, i love to push the limits of everything i do and my choice was..
  4. Not wanting to continue an argument, just giving my POV to the guy who asked the question. I have a TDCi and normally when i pull up anywhere, i stop... sort myself out (ie: grab phone, wallet etc...) get out and straighten myself up then turn the car off.. kinda become habit and generally doesnt lose anymore time than if i was to switch straight off. I heard all the tech about the Turbo Fatigue, and as Modern as the engines of today are now... this is still a moving part and for me leaving it running that little bit of extra time while i sort myself out jus gives me the peace of mind tha
  5. Its a buyers market at the moment... and the fact i have stalled has brought an even better example to my attention. Watch this space for pics!! 0X 0X
  6. well.. i started this thread and after alot of hardcore time spent thinking about which car to choose and after driving them both... im gonna go for the Focus RS. I am single, i live 2 miles from work and i do wanna have a car that every time i nail the throttle on a corner it makes me smile from cheek to cheek, on the test drive... the RS done this with extra wow factor. im currently in negotiations with a Dealer over one... and getting very close to signing the dotted. many thanks for all your advice, its been a tough decision... but for now.. the RS is for me. 0X
  7. Well, i dont do an awful lot of driving... since i work about 3miles from my house. What i do want is a car that i can kick the ring out of when i feel like it, but also a car i can drive to and from work without having to fight it there and back. I prefer the look of the RS and the Interior (except the Seats) is far superior in my opinion on the RS. The ST is a awesome car though, after test drive it jus made me smile (which few cars really do) Really is a tough decision...
  8. Guys, Im a bit confused... i want a new car, and i want something around the titled range. I currently have a Focus TDCi which i love, the torque is amasing from this and although i vowed never to have a Diesel 2 yrs ago... i had to give in when i compared it to the ST170. Now im at a point where i want to change, and im unsure of what i should get... part of me really wants the new ST but for me it has 1 major flaw... its interior (particulary the Dash) is awful to look at.. and definately not a step forward on the MK1.5 dash. Being that i hate the dash on the new one, its made me
  9. Dealers already have Show Cars? is this all dealers?
  10. hmmm.. i currently own a 53 reg TDCi and love it to bits.. performance/handling rocks. recently i have been considering a trade of the car i love for a new shape but i think i would rather cut my left nut off after reading this. maybe wait for the mk2.5 Focus TDCi. Good Luck with your court case, let David take down Goliath.
