  1. Ah cool. Reckon its worth trying to pull the pipes apart, putting some PTFE tape on the joints and re-sealing that way? Or just wrap it round the outside and re-clip it back together...

Just been looking at a friends Focus as he has a rather leaky issue (He's also a member on here, Switch-Lee), its a MK2 1.6 Ghia The water from the raidiator is leaking at a rather alarming rate. I have traced the leak to a pipe which actually comes inside the car. From the engine, it goes into the top of the bulkhead, in the middle, to inside the car. From sticking my head in the drivers footwell and looking up, it comes into the car via a metal pipe. Then there is a joint, joining it onto another metal pipe which sends it up into the dash somewhere. It is leaking from the joint. The join
  3. How on earth do you do it on a mk2? :? It could be me being stupid, but I really cant get at it. Ive searched everywhere and no-one else has posted asking, as far as I can see. The mk1 is hard enough!
  4. Posting on behalf of another member on here.... He has a 1.6 petrol MK2 Ghia (not that it really matters) He rings me as his car is low on water and he cant get the cap off. I go down to take a look. What he had done is unscrew the cap off the resiovior, but the plastic rubber seal piece had left itself stuck in the top of the neck. As you may already know, there are plastic lips on this rubber piece, which hold it underneath the screw cap. We couldn't get the cap back onto these, so in the end we had to basically force out this plastic rubber piece, making a right mess of it. Got it o
