Mayo I like the subtle glow it gives over the gear lever area. Mine is from an ST and in red so may be different with the orange one in the titanium. If you want to disconnect yours remove the interior light and remove a small single spade connector from one of the corners - wire colour Orange and Blue

John - if you want I have just bought a new style Sony (mine is the bolt in style already) do you want to meet to see the difference in centre console between mine and your car to get yours fitted?

Hi John - it's me!!! I haven't got the bluetooth loom in my car nor on the new headlining i got!! :-( There is some other wires in there and will try and find out what they do.

All not sure if it is much use to you all but whilst fitting a ST black headlining into my then I discovered that there is a grey plug on the passenger side A Post which has a feed from the lighting circuit for the submarine lighting. Might be easier to tap into this then routing all the way from the light swtich etc. It is a Blue/Orange wire. If in doubt check with a multi meter first! Will take some pics next time I have the A Pillar trim off!

Cheers zetecste!! Don't like the way the edge of the Conti's go - makes the whole tyre look bald! Can't believe the price of tyres - normally change the car before needing to change tyres but due to the current financials the value of my car is shocking!!

Hi I need to change my front tyres on 17" 1.8 Petrol Mk2 and am after feedback from folks on what they have and recommend. I currently have Conti Sport 2 fitted but are worn and lost loads of grip. Also could do with an idea of prices folks have paid recently. Thanks!!

The airbag depends on whether you are changing from a 3 spoke steering wheel to a 4 spoke. If you already have a 4 spoke wheel you do not need to change the airbag.

Hi you need to chnage the steering wheel and airbag and also modify the configuration of GEM/IPC/PCM to reflect cruise is fitted. This needs to be done via IDS (dealer diagnostic tool) Also depends on level of GEM on whether cruise is supported but think all Mk2.5 have cruise support in the GEM. Hope that helps!!

On a 2.0 petrol it is in the fuel lies under the car. Round canister not sure on exact location but should be obvious under the car. Note - not all petrols have one fitted for some reason.....

There is still an option for both alarm disable and powerfold as my brother in laws car has it. NHext time i borrow i'll take a pic. It's a Mk2.5 BTW

I think smax alloys have bigger wheel nut holes as wheel nuts are M14 thread from memory so check before u buy!!!

Used by engine management for idle control and altering the revs etc when changing gear. Improves driveabillity apparently!

Sy - it looks as if it is a sony HU issue. As i think your age of car is prior to factory fit bluetooth BUT at the time when factory fit phone was available with a cradle. Best bet is to get a later sony HU.

Sy - you do not need any additional wires - 2 wires on both voice and non voice versions. Also AVC is "Automatic Volume Control" and increase the radio volume depending on speed.

Yeah over the head of the driver - have you got sensors for the alarm? Mine is stuck to the headlining and couldn't get in properly to check out wire colours etc. as i hadn't dropped front edge of headlining down. Thanks for looking

Mine was to the right of the interior light opening - maybe for the vanity lights above the visors? Not got any pics and away from home until the weekend and not got any tools with me!!

Dave/Boris - where is that connector used on the car? Which connection is it used in?? Will try and see if I can track down another source.....

With voice button you will only have 2 wires from the radio to the switch. Timbo - I have got a Zetec Climate and by my interior light I have an used connector which is purple in colour. Can you have a look and let me know what it is used for on your car!! Thanks!

OK will look them up for you! You're a bit far to pop over and show you what can be programmed!! You must have a good dealer if they will mess around with/for you!! I've had nothing but bad experience with dealers trying to look at issues for me!!

SRM = Speech Recognition Module - Bluetooth Phone Module in most folks world!! I'm sure the radio is SW programmable (ACM - Audio Control Module). You say you have a Sony Gen 1 but it could have early SW. Do you want to know all programmable modules? I can look them up when i get a spare 5!! Where in UK are you?
