Hi all. Have just noticed that the plastic trim on the back of one of my wing mirrors is no longer there!!! I hope I can just get a new cover and not a whole mirror. Anyone know where to look on the net? :)

Service Prices for First Service (12500miles)

£155 (Diesel) + £16 fuel system flush (optional) -
I drive my 2.0l tdci quick. I just about manage to hit 40mpg. If you drive @ 60-70mph on a motorway in 6th you'll get the 50mpg stated. Otherwise forget it! Still 40mpg not too bad considering the performance you get. :)

Anyone else have this? Can anything be done to cure it or is it just badly designed?

Anyone had a remodelled EGR Valve fitted yet?
jc1978 replied to andytran's topic in MK2 - Ford Focus 2005 > 2011
Well, have been informed that all that was required was the new software as this contains a 'fix' for the frozen egr problem. I really do hope so because I cant take much more!!!! -

BAD NEWS! My EGR problems have returned in just over a month! I am starting to think they just cleaned my EGR instead of replacing it. They're having it in monday and will put the new software on. Will wait and see. :( -

Thousands? I worked out an ST would cost me just £500 a year more in tax/ins and fuel than my 2.0l tdci titanium!

Black is best for colour matching but is a bit*h to keep clean! :)

The loom was something that used to collect water which apparantly caused a premature failiure of the egr. Ford have now redesigned it by all accounts, no idea about the relay though. -

I used to have all the same problems as you. Since I've had a new EGR, loom and relay I've had no problems at all. :) -
Do you like the new revamped Focus ?
jc1978 replied to appolospb's topic in MK2 - Ford Focus 2005 > 2011
It's true, the lower spec mk2's are much less desirable than the higher end specs. The ST is quite subtle too. With the exception of the twin exhaust and 18" alloys it looks much like a titanium. I think from once you start getting colour coding the llok improves dramatically! :) -

Maybe the car isn't as original anymore, but they have certainly learned how to bolt it together. Much less rattles and a more solid feel. Ok, so I've had issues with my engine, but hopefully thats sorted now. I've never been a fan of 5 door focus Mk1 or 2. Both 3 dr versions look good IMO. I do feel that the Mk2 looks much better as you go up the range because you get colour coding and lose the grey plastic trim. To say the new focus is ugly is harsh IMO. The only thing I do agree with is that a lot of new cars are starting to look very similar, doesn't mean they're ugly though! :) Just my -

A bit harsh methinks! -
Aerial comes off on mine too!

Dunno, but I was just quoted £155! for the first service on my 2.0 tdci. Can I get it done elsewhere and still validate the warranty?

Have just picked up my focus from the dealer. It has had a new EGR as well as a relay and wiring loom. There was an ingress of water within the loom which caused the EGR to malfunction apparantly! The new wiring loom is supposed to be re-designed to prevent this from happening again. Also they have now also been advised by FORD that when the new software is available it needs to installed to rectify some other issues. Eventually the service was good, but it took a hell of alot of shouting the odds to get it fastracked! The car seems much smoother now and the hesitancy has gone too! On

Yeah, have just found out about the Hire car crap. They delivered a C_MAX to me at 1:30pm. It must be back to them by the same time tomorrow when both me and the wife are at work! - Usefull! So I have a car sat on the drive which is useless. I also have to take it back and will probably get charged the fuel it takes to drive it back! What a F***ING joke. At least my car has finally made to the dealer and is being 'fixed' (It better be!) as we speak. Will be swapping my focus for something Non- Ford asap. Never, have I ever had so many issues getting a temp car from any other car manufactuer!
