  1. I have just used the Redex fuel additive in my 1.8 c-max, it's a lot smoother, and seems to have reduced the slight hesitation is had when cold... It is £3.64 in Tesco at the moment, so probably cheaper than filling up with the higher octane fuel too.
  2. Yes I often think a C-Max with 2.5 turbo would be great After all whizzpopper did make a mad Zafira..it just didn't like corners much!!!
  3. There is one modded c-max I know of. http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/ ... Max061.jpg http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/ ... Max065.jpg http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/ ... Max062.jpg This belongs to someone on 'the other' Focus ownner club website, called windymill. I think its excellent, it has twin exhausts on too, but can't find any pics of that.
  4. Hi all, I want to service my car (1.8 petrol), and change the spark plugs, but I am halted immediately by the engine cover which I can't figure out how to get it off. It is the oil filler spout that stops it coming off, i notice that the spout can swivel to point to the near side of the car, but don't want to pull too hard in case that isn't the correct way to sort the problem. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  5. That does look like a mondeo estate cover as it has a 'roller blind' style cover. But as you say not for a c-max!!
  6. I would hesitate to drive through water even if I had a Landrover Defender, but he did and is now looking for another car, fortunatly for him he only bought it a couple of months ago, and had GAP insurance on it. Shame for a year old car to be written off, but no doubt it will return as a Cat D at some point.
  7. Ok maybe not puddles....... Not sure if its a common thing, but my boss has just told me that his Focus Sport has been written off due to water getting into the engine through the air duct under the car. He was driving slowly through an amount of water and the car stalled and then water flowed in upto bottom of the seat. It needs a new engine, new carpeting and all the electrics replacing. :(
  8. Hi there, funnily enough just been out in my car, and used cruise control, it helps MPG a bit!! Press ON, then press set. Should be driving on its own after that...also a light will show its on, on the dashboard.
  9. Had a go at removing the headlights, pushed the clips down, removed the torx bolt, and that was as much as I could do, the headlights are actually bigger than the hole they fill. In other words, the rear of the lights is 10mm all the way round bigger than the front, sp gave up getting them out. I'll leave well alone now, and see if there is anything else I can do to the car to make it more individual.
  10. Ah well looks like I'll just put in my Philips +50% bulbs I have lying round...... Thanks again.
  11. Yes they are 4300k after-market kit, made by Bosch (so not a cheap set). I'm aware of the legal side of it, just wanted to know if they actually work in the standard C-Max headlight unit without the light going everywhere, except the road. It's the dazzling thing I'm worried about!!! The coupe had projector lenses so they were perfect, and didn't look out of place, they were fitted for about 8 months, with no issues at all. And Merseyside Police can be hot on all that illuminate that shouldn't (washers, neons etc). Having said that though, the amount of vehicles knocking round with ba
  12. Hi all, I read with interest the topic about fitting HID's to cars, and have a set from my old coupe (made by Bosch) which I took off to put on the c-max, but my question is to people who already have done this, what is the light like, does it scatter all over the place, or is it a nice beam. Any pics would be great. Also is it easy to remove the headlights, I tried last week following the instructions in the how to guide, but they seem to be stuck solid. Is it just me not wanting to break anything or is there a knack to getting them out Cheers
  13. Hello, I am wondering if anybody has removed the resonator box from their C-Max's, I have a 1.8 petrol, and would like to do it, as I did in my previous car (Hyundai Coupe V6) and it really improved the engine note, and seemed to make it smoother to drive. Or am I being daft in wanting to make my C-max better as it is supposed to be a sensible family car. :? Just looked in the engine bay, doesn't look like it even has a box to take out....Is that correct, or am I missing something :?:
  14. I don't have a boot lock either, mine is an 04 1.8 Ghia. Must admit all the c-max's i've seen and pictures of them, I have never seen a keyhole...maybe its an extra thing on your father-in-laws??
  15. Ooops yes sorry pull out. I have taken a pic showing what it looks like on mine (Ghia Model), when is pulled out one click, so yours may come out a bit more that that!! http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u181 ... CF4240.jpg
