  1. Just got rid of my c-max because of all the rattles and annoying creaking dashboard and door seals. Been into four different dealers on numerous occasions to get it fixed but everytime comes back just the same. I was told last time it was in "why dont you just put up with it, it's impossible to fix as it's made of poor quality plastics, anyway it dosent effect the way the car drives". Had enough of Ford's now. Once they got my money off me they were never interested after that.
  2. Had exactly the same problem twice during the last month, and guess what? It's now booked in for a new EGR valve ! (I just hope it works).
  3. Picked the car up yesterday and the door seals are done (no more creaking). Wish I could say the same for the dash, it's dreadfull. I dont think Ford's will EVER fix it :(
  4. Ming going in AGAIN tomorrow for the dash board creaking fix and door seal creaking fix. When I get it back it should no longer sound like a pirates galleon ship, I hope
  5. Replaced the standard headlight bulbs with Halfords Laser Blue bulbs, hoping for that buleish xenon effect (I know it wont be the same as proper xenon headlights). Anyway there is hardly any difference at all from the standard bulbs. Has anyone changed their bulbs and if so any recommediations :?:
  6. I'm looking at getting a Tom Tom Go sat nav system for my c-max. Has anyone got one and would the heated front screen effect the reception :?:
  7. This issue was brought up by my local dealer last week. He tells me that Ford's have now come up with a new fix for this. They have redesigned the door seals which will stop the creaking. If you mention this to your dealer they should be awair of this fix. I'm going to book mine in for this over the next few weeks.
  8. Whilst reading through this thread I thought I would check my Vehicle Identification plate to see if my c-max has a DPF, but it doesn't have a VIN plate. Can anyone tell me, is this correct ?.
  9. Mine's the same roughly 32mpg urban. I cant believe some of the figures on this forum, it seems impossible to get anywhere near 45mpg. Last month I measured the MPG whilst on holiday by filling up and recording mileage, (not by the computer) after a total of 1,235 mile it worked out to 37mpg which included a fair bit of motorway driving.
  10. Oh well, as expected the car has been in the dealers for five day's and they say they cannot find anything wrong. Look's like I will just have to live with it and help clear up the mess when the EPB next fails and the car crashes into something or someone
  11. LappinKulta, No I didnt have any of those symptoms, having said that I have noticed a slight burning smell from the inside of the car, it smells very similar to a freshly struck match. Im starting to wonder if their is a problem with the wiring and this is causing the electrical problems? Anyway the car is going in next Monday, fingers crossed they will find some sort of problem and fix it. What was the problem with the Mondeo handbrake?
  12. Just got back from holiday in Cornwall. Last week had Steering Assist Warning, EPB, Enging Light, No speedo, so as passing a ford dealer called in for some help. Parked the car (2.0 TDCI Ghia) and as walking across the car park noticed the car rolling backwards towards the plate glass window of the dealers. Got behind it and somehow managed to slow it down (superman impression) and the wife jumped in and used the foot brake. Got one of the ford workers out to look at it and he said get it looked at ASAP. Anyway to cut a long story short 19 hours later a tow truck arrives and takes the car
  13. Spoke to the customer relations centre today who offered me a free service if I just accept the fault (creaking noise ). However they made it clear that if I accept my warranty would be null and void. I,m feeling really frustrated as I wanted to return the car when I first got it but I was talked into keeping it by the dealer who promised me that it would be fixed, now turn's out they cannot fix it as they dont know what is causing the creaking noise.
  14. Picked the car up this morning after the garage had it for just over one week. They have fitted a new lid on the dashboard apparently there is a TSB on this. Anyway the new lid is a slightly different shade of black from the rest of the dashboard and it STILL CREAKS. The car is now nearly one year old and it has had this problem since day 1. Does anyone have any further suggestions as to what I can do now ?
  15. My 2.0 TDCI Ghia has gone back in again today with the dashboard/interior creaking. this has been happening since the day I took delivery. Fords can obviousley not fix this as the car has been back to them on at least 10 different occasions, at four different dealers. God knows what excuse they will come up with next week when I pick the car up, but I bet it will still CREAK.
