  1. NICE car... I love those wheels :)
  2. Hey thanks a lot wardell - I was wondering if that was possible and even "an old woman" (me) was able to follow your instructions...
  3. Hey, that's good. Glad the anticipation isn't better than the real thing.... I'm really enjoying mine. Got it last week and go out in it at any excuse :D :D :D
  4. On another thread James the Cat mentioned that a new buyer could get 15000 Nectar Points on a new Focus (with Ford Finance). Yesterday I took delivery of the Focus that I ordered in January (when the last Nectar Points promotion was on - promotion was supposed to have ended on 31st March). Yesterday the dealership said nothing to me about getting Nectar Points; I assumed that I wouldn't now that it is April. Has anyone else got them? Is there any point in me trying to get them or will I just be wasting time and energy? I did get 5000 for doing the test drive which can't be bad. Chee
  5. Yipee... I picked her up this afternoon and have been driving around with a big grin on my face :D :D :D . I love it... 2l Titanium TDCi in Tonic. I've been told to keep down the revs to 3000 for the first 1000 miles and then to gradually increase them, so won't be able to really test the power for a while yet. Quiet, smooth and refined. I'm looking forward to it loosening up a bit (e.g. takes quite a bit of female muscle to get it into reverse) but apart from that no gripes except for the wishing that the cup holders were in a better position for storing a small bottle of water.
  6. Hey Red Osprey: I hope that you tell us all about your new Focus later on today: how it drives, how it looks and how you feel driving it... I'm collecting mine tomorrow - arranged it a day earlier than previously planned :D :D :D Pol
  7. Very nice (Epsom Downs looks good as well) Enjoy!! I get mine on Thursday morning :) but feels like a long wait... Pol
  8. My Focus arrived at the dealership last Thursday, the same day that I took in the Log Book, the insurance certificate and the current tax disc and had to sign a Transfer Form. Apparently they are having to take the documentation to Maidstone (Kent) to confirm the transfer (they do this tomorrow). I am picking up the car on Thursday but the money to pay the balance won't be available until then anyway. I could have had it on Tuesday otherwise. My tonic Titanium has a Ghia badge on it too. The salesboy says that they all come with it - I've asked for them to remove it asap. And yes, he n
  9. My new Focus arrived at the dealership today. I had to go there to take in details of my present car as I am having the reg plate transferred to the new car AND it had just arrived... so I sat in it. One thing: the wheels are different from the ones I ordered. I ordered 16" machined alloy (£100) and I've been given 17" 5-spoke (£200). I stupidly mentioned that I did not remember ordering the wheels they had fitted. If I keep quiet are they likely to let it go or do you think that, if they demand more money, I should insist that they give me what I ordered?? Pol
  10. They must have been working overtime because I have just had a 'phone call from my dealership to say that my 2l TDCi will be ready next Thursday (21st). Ordered it on 29th January. Options include ESP, adaptive headlights and parking sensors. I was told that mine was built in Belgium. Pol :D :D :D
  11. I ordered my Titanium 2l TDCi on 29th January. Despite giving some hassle to the very young salesboy he has persisted in telling me that "the car is being built as we speak" for 5 weeks now. So I contacted the Sales Manager today and complained about the lack of customer care skills.... Funnily enough I now have a build date and a potential delivery date - 7th April and 23rd April respectivley. Still a long time to wait but at least it gives me something to focus on!! Pol
  12. Hi there and welcome to the FFOC. I have ordered the 2l TDCi Titanium and I am older than you. No way are you too old - well I'm certainly not. I reckon that it is important to enjoy your driving which means your body being comfortable as you drive (the older bones you know!!) and feeling good about the car you drive (which impacts on how you might feel about yourself). The Focus fits the bill for me :D Let us know what you decide... Pol
  13. Mike: I too have ordered the Titanium with ESP and Adaptive Lighting so when I read your comments about Ford not being able to build this combination I thought I had better ring the dealership in Horsham, West Sussex. I was told today that it is true for some models but not for the 2l TDCi - of course, I'm relieved. Can't understand how it can be ok for some models and not others. Can't understand why customers can't be informed at the point of placing the order either. Salesman still can't tell me when my car will be ready for collection, but I didn't order mine until 31st January. Po
  14. I ordered mine two weeks ago as well. However, I've been told to expect a wait of up to 12 weeks before delivery which makes the end of April......... I can't believe it can take that long :( Let's hope they work double shifts :D Pol
  15. I've ordered: 2l Titanium TDCi in Tonic (well, I am a woman!!) ESP Adaptive Lighting Parking Sensors Smarter 16" alloys (don't like the standard ones) Mudflaps Ordered on 31st January but told that I'll have to wait up to 12 weeks.... patience is not one of my virtues!! Pol
