  1. Mine was a really bad paint match when I go it, Fords repainted the bumper and made it worse, so then blended the wings in and it is a lot better, but not 100% perfect. If they do argue about it, press your point if your not happy. After all, it is your car not theres! Strange enough my father has just bought a new focus in the same colour as mine (tonic) and the paint match is better than mine. His is a Spanish car and mine is German. It seems that they are getting better as I have seen less with the problem than I did this time last year, but there are still some out there that look awfu
  2. Glad to hear it is all sorted, hope you have no more problems.
  3. This happened to me once in a Sainsburys car park. I was a bit unsure what to do as I was worried it would happen again. I spoke with my car expert mate, and he said it can happen with hydralic clutches if a lot of force is put on the pedal. I suppose this means it is likely to happen if you perform an emergancy stop?? My mate also told me that he has known it on Audis, BMWs, Volvos etc. I followed his advice, pulled the clutch back up, and drove home being gentle on the pedal. 10,000 miles later, the problem has not come back thankfully. Hope you get yours sorted out, be interested to he
  4. I noticed this the other week, was told if you put the key in the ignition and turn it to position 2 it will stop the alarm going off. Haven't tried it yet though!
  5. I have heard 10bhp but not sure if thats accurate or not. Mine does need to be worked a bit harder with the a/c on, but I dont think it is much worse than having the windows open and creating the drag.
  6. Thanks for the quick replies, much appreciated.
  7. This might be a stupid question but... I opened my car today with the spare key, had to check it was for my car and when the door opened there was a beeping noise. I shut the car door again, and locked it with the spare key, but as I was walking away the alarm went off. The spare key wouldn't turn it off, so had to run in and get the master remote while the alarm was going off. I have been told that if you lock the car with the master, and then attempt to use the spare, the alarm will always go off. Is that the case? If so it seems pointless having a spare if you need the master all the ti
  8. Here's a pic of mine, not the clearest as it shows the whole centre console but I think they are all the same regardless of model. It has a plastic silver coloured surround.
  9. I can as well although I have mine set on comfort.
  10. My air con wasnt working when i picker the car up, turned out to be a faulty compressor. If they have to replace it, make sure they have a replacement bracket in stock as I was told they are prone to breaking, mine did when the compressor was being replaced and it took 2 weeks to get a new one!
  11. Had the same problem on my Mk1.5 Focus, a bit of WD40 solved the problem.
  12. I used to work for one of these companies when I was at uni, and I left shortly after due to they way they treated their staff and customers. All they cared about was making their targets, staff and customers came last. If you can find a good dealer, hang on to them, it makes the whole car buying process much smoother. My family always bought from the same salesman as he was always really good to us, knew what he was talking about and actually seemed to care. It is a shame he left Fords!
  13. Dead right sm, a sad indictment of modern society. Too many sales robots selling products they have no idea about and only interested in taking the money. Or selling insurance, I am sure half of these companies would only sell insurance if they could!
  14. Exactly the same on my 2.0 petrol. Bit annoyng, but I can live with it.
  15. When my car went in for warranty work it was expected to be in for 3 days and I was given the salesmans Mk2 Ghia. Due to various reasons, the car was in for 3 1/2 weeks, I ended up keeping his vehicle until mine was ready. When the car had to go back in again, they offered me a Ka. I am 6'3"! The dealership wouldnt give me anything bigger so I complained to Ford Customer Services and was given a loaner Mk1 Focus from the hire place there.
  16. All the new ford cars that me and my family bought have always been paid on collection. It is not Ford policy to pay before registration. I would refuse to give them the money until you collect the car.
  17. Neither had I! I just hang mine the otherside of the petrol cover and it keeps it off the paintwork.
  18. Glad to see someone else thinks they are awful! Had them on a company owned Vectra, puts me off buying a whizzpopper (not that I would have done so anyway)!
  19. Mine does it too, I have just learnt to live with it
  20. I have noticed it a little, but it seems better than on the Mk1.5
  21. Did it with the engine on whilst driving and it seems to be ok, still holding the correct date just under a week afterwards.
  22. Good engine, performance seems better than the Mk1/1.5 but I am not impressed with the fuel consumption. States a combined of 39.8 but I struggle to get 30, was making the listed figure on my Mk1.5 of 32-33.
  23. I had exactly the same thing on mine when i took it in for the 1 year service although the dealer assured me that they had not disconnected the battery. Mine was setting 1 year, 2 months, 1 day, 1 hour, 3 minutes slow!
  24. My Ghia has global closing. You do have to press and hold the remote button for a little while before it will work though, I think it is about 3 seconds.
