  1. the symptoms you describe are exactly that which would occur from an empty or low gas system. May well be a coincidence but did you get it serviced at a proper AC place? Did you see them do it and if so did they do it under the car (wheel well area) or from top of the bonnet area? I'm no expert at all just trying to piece together stuff I have read previously
  2. my flow through the vents was very poor before I changed the pollen filter. You couldn't feel the flow through the vents until setting 1 and then very faint. Since changing the filter I would estimate the flow at setting 0 to be the same as the old setting 2. Looks like you have saved yourself the job of changing the filter. If you must have it set to face level and the flow is still too great you can of course restrict the flow using the adjusters on each vent
  3. yeah but if you didn't pre-fill you have got a bit of a nightmare on your hands. Heard all sorts of stories along the lines of towing the car at 30mph in gear till it runs etc.
  4. I 'think' you can tell the difference by the ride height. The handling suspension fitted cars ride a touch lower. I can't call this a fact but MK2.5's with the snowflake wheels def look lower than standard Zetecs generally. Guess the only way to be sure is check the car on ETIS
  5. sounds like you have a DPF fitted car and it was trying to regen the filter.
  6. Just to confuse things even further the sport pack is tints, handling suspension and 17inch wheels on Zetec trim cars. I do not have the Ice pack but do have heated front screen and washer jets on my 2008 Zetec. To the OP. To check go to http://www.etis.ford.com/ click on the 'vehicle' tab and enter your Reg number in the reg box. This will bring up your vehicle details. To get further details inc. which packs are fitted click on the blue text which says 'there are more minor details for your vehicle etc.' Note: the Etis website does not seem to work properly with current versions of fi
  7. Handheld un its like Dreamscience are just a fancy way of fitting a generic remap, really not much different to a man in a van turning up outside your house and remapping your car. TBH the only difference is you know the map comes from a reputable source, it is still not customised to your car like a proper bespoke custom remap. Do not be confused here. Custom does not mean someone downloads your original map then sends it away to be customised then receives a 'custom' map back via the internet. A true custom map is done solely for your car over several hours using rolling road runs to det
  8. Save up another £100 and go to RS Tuning. You won't regret it
  9. got mine done for about £25 as partg of a major service, but I do get a good deal as my brother works there. Think I remember seeing 29.99 somewhere though
  10. Just checked your reg and you are right. No further options are available. Strange :?
  11. What browser are you using? etis doesn't work properly for me with Google Chrome. Def works OK with Firefox
  12. click on the 'there are minor features for this vehicle, click to expand the list' link below the bit you have quoted. MUCH more info about your car will be revealed
  13. always worth checking out main dealers IMO. Got my last major service and MOT done for £150 inc VAT at Allen Ford Upminster. To be truthful the major service was £150 and the MOT was free with a major service. But hey-ho, everyones a winner :D
  14. every car I can remember driving has had the throttle pedal slightly below the brake pedal. Only once the brake has been depressed will it be level-ish with the acc pedal. If you start off level you will prob end up getting your foot wedged under the acc, or more like press both pedals together and crash into something. The clutch is on a different leg so relative height won't matter too much IMO, especially when talking under an inch. The pedal being higher will enable you to resist the temptation to rest your foot on the clutch pedal too. I know this isn't the answer you are looking fo
  15. salsheikh, driven normally all the dervs will best your petrol car. What a lot pf people don't appreciate is how low mpg can go on a derv when driven enthusiastically. Under 30mpg is easily achievable for the 2.0. but that was autobahn and track use. Generally I get mid 40's, but have managed high 60's when really trying
