  1. btw, is there a quick fix to get a window to auto up while driving? i put my window down to clear condensation on some mornings. steering, changing gear and puting the window up at once is a chore...and risks informing woman that we CAN infact multitask.
  2. my 05 zetec climate has auto down at the drivers side, have to hold down to get the window up tho, have to hold to get the passenger window down/up. rear windows are manual...but who needs elecy rear windows, thats the passengers problem.
  3. my ffoc sticker is on the right of the rear windscreen, planted nicely atop the wiper...wish i put it top centre now. Jamz, nice debadge, how much did that set u back? did you get the boot moulding sanded and colourcoded or did you get a primed part from ford, how much did it cost? b]Seb_TDCi[/b], is that a personal no plate? wots it stand for?
  4. its around the wheel that sags without the polystyrene. so mabie my space saver isnt space saver enough...
  5. Jamz, polystyrene was needed. the carpet was hanging down a lot around the sides. i thought i wouldnt need it either but i do. i dont think my mk1 had any polysterene and it came with a space saver. mk2 must have a different recess for the wheel to fit in.
  6. Ivor_Bigun_zetec, do you mean you keep things in the holes in the polystyrene bits? or have i lost u? lol
  7. just done this in my car, got hold of a space saver spare wheel, threw it in and took out the polystyrene, cut the polestyrene to right thickness and put it back in. gained 3-4 inches in hight in my boot and the space saver weighs less than the full size spare so i lost some wieght too. only problem is the boot carpet is now slightly too small, will need to find a fix for that. its not a great "mod" but its handy if you need space for tools in the boot. should be able to stand up the power tool boxes and get more in without removing the boot shelf now.
  8. dave6202uk, i think theres a "how to" for puting in st pedals.
  9. mine does it every morning when i get in the car, then every night on the way home. leaves me coasting down hills to try bring it back up, lol.
  10. just noticed over the last 2 weeks that if i run my car about, (usually about 25 miles at a time) then leave the car for 9 hours (while i work) or over nite, when i turn it back on the average mpg reads 0.5mpg or more, less than when i turned the car off. mpg reading doesnt change if the car has only been off for a few minute while im at the shop tho. usually reads like 41.6 when i turn it off then 40.8-41.1 when i turn it back on. (an example from today) is this just the computer deciding that it was wrong on the previous journey? or is there a leak somewhere? thanx.
  11. cool, sounds alright, would take the car to 130bhp ish. thanx for the info guys. im sure ill get it on a rolling road sometime after the mods are done. just need to save my money now.
  12. got a mag a couple of months ago which had a few pages dedicated to insurance, had a big list of performance insurers and their numbers, will have to look the mag out and make some calls. what kinda bhp should i be looking for after the mods i mentioned in the start of the topic?
  13. 21 mate. had 3 1/2 years no claims then lost it on a greasy road. live in a pretty good postcode. more interested in the power gains than the insuarance just now. recently got a quote of 950£ for my focus with lowering springs on it which i thot was pretty damn good. aint got the springs yet, got quote out of interest.
  14. as above, got a 1.6 115ps focus zetec and wondering wot the max bhp would be without getting forced intake. im thinking of performance exhaust, bluefin and already got k&n panel filter. any idea how much this would affect insurance? got 0 no claims now.
  15. adampick, did you sand the paint with 1200g wet and dry paper before spraying the laquer on? currently spraying my fogs and they will be hard to sand because of the shape of them. on the can it says to sand , did u get away without sanding between the paint and the laquer? thanx
  16. thanx Jamz, i think i'll be getting the 2nd 1 you recomended. was looking at the adaptors and this is the only 1 i can find, will it fit my 05 mk2 focus? http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/ford-wiring-adaptor-p-4457.html
  17. would all aftermarket double dins need some sort of fasia around them? was just thinking that the 1 that comes with the car is a double din so would some be the same size so a facia wouldnt be needed? also can anyone recomend a double din dvd player 6.5"screen (or bigger?) with a usb and thats compatable with steering controls? thanx on advance guys.
  18. ah ok, sorry bout that, must of read it wrong.
  19. Jamz, up to 41mpg in a 2l petrol?!?! i need to learn ur driving style! i get 41-42mpg out of a 1.6l
  20. adampick, when u were coding ur fogs did u sand the texture off them or just put on a couple of extra coats to get them smooth? btw tezza can no longer supply the spoiler, he got made redundant (poor guy)
  21. i do the same kinda miles in my mk2 focus 1.6 zetec climate. mostly country driving bang on 60mph most of the time. i get 41-42mpg most weeks. at the weekends when my foot gets heavy i get 36 mpg (that with a lead foot and high revs)
  22. "The MK2 ST spoiler 1508140 @ £120.32 inc vat (primed) and comes with clear 3rd brake light and washer jet and pipe " quoted from tezza in another forum. the rest is for painting and postage i think, best pm tezza for more info.
  23. tezza is getting me an st spoiler and spraying it for me, 172£ bought, sprayed and posted to me. just waiting for ford to send it out to him. im getting 41-42 mpg during the week to work and back and about 37-38 mpg at the weekends with a slightly heavier foot. its a mk2 1.6 zetec climate 115ps.
  24. ide also like to know if retrofitting air con to the glove box is possible. nothing worse than a warm bottle of juice on a summers day!
