  2. Sorry forgot to say i was only doing between 60-70mph...very strange!!
  3. I have a 04 plate 1.6 tdci. Had the car for a couple of years and have been getting 39-42mpg around town, on long runs from South Tyneside To Basildon 59-62mpg. In October took the car into Jennings Ford for annual service. Went down to Essex over Xmas and my mpg has went down to 47mpg on long runs and 32 around town? Has anyone else had something similar. Cheers
  4. I think that i may as well have a go at trying a repair. Went into Jennings Ford in South Shields and they quoted me £20+vat for a new one. If my handywork fails i'll just buy a new one. I'll post any results on here. Cheers.
  5. Just noticed my sun visor has started to become limp(oooh er missus). Do i need to buy a new one from ford or is there a way of tightening up the old one. Cheers. :)
  6. Only had 1 problem with mine which was the low fuel warning light, this was fixed with the upgrade. Other than that had mine over a year and its the dogs!!!
  7. My old car was a 1.8 tdi focus, changed due to needing more space, I like the driving position in the c-max, the performance from the 1.6 tdci engine to me is a lot better than I got from my old 1.8 tdi focus. I drive to France a few times a year and get not bad mpg, I normally get to Calais with a just under a 100 miles in the tank, on motorways get 55mpg +, around town goes down to 38-40. Enjoy your new car!!!
  8. I agree they are very easy to fit, I had to turn the front wheels to tighten the screws, only problem I had was the metal clip that slides onto the middle of the flaps...broke one of mine...probably like wor lass said..too ham fisted!!
  9. Thanks for your replys. My car has a Standard Ford Alarm....will have a look at the For Sale section and see whats available. Have seen one on E-bay called Spalsat?? Cheers!!
  10. During the Xmas Hols went to Disneyland Paris, stayed at a Formule 1 Hotel in Esbly a few miles away from the park. On the second night several cars were broken into, the main cars targeted were Fords with alloy wheels. The rogues managed to get alloys off 2 cars luckily not mine still did plenty of damage though!! If you are going to stay in this area watch where you park!!!
  11. Hi All, I have a 04 C-Max tdci, would like to upgrade standard security kit to one that will notify my mobile if it gets broken into. Has anyone fitted such a device and if so what were the costs involved. :D
  12. Took car to Pattersons Newcastle, they said when it was sitting at Motorpoint in Derby the battery had gone flat, after it had been jump started by dealer it had a lot of fault codes on the ecu. According to Pattersons they reset all the faults even the low fuel warning. Got home checked rom level and guess what still on 0422, a couple of weeks later low fuel warning comes up again even with half a tank. I think this time i'll try Jennings in South Shields and see if they can upgrade to rom level 0424, maybe then i'll get this low fuel warning cured???
  13. Checked and it is on ROM Level 0422. Cheers! Andy 8)
  14. Thanks. I ll be taking it in next Tues. Will check which version it is though. All the Best. Andy 8)
  15. Hi All, Just Bought a C-Max Zetec TDCI 1.6 last week from Motorpoint in Burnley. Two days later turned on ignition Low Fuel warning came on despite tank being half full. Pressed reset to acknowledge warning then headed home. Turned ignition off and with car locked noticed the CD/Radio & Speedo all lit up. Waited 15 mins then CD/Radio light went off, took another 15 mins for speedo light to go off. Is this a software problem in the ecu, i dont think it has had the new firmware update? It has done 13450miles since June 2004, Has a backstreet garage service stamp which claims to have used For
