After 2 full days at Ford, including a complete dash removal, finally found the problem to be with the water pump. While it still kind of works, it turns out the some of the inside components have completely broken off, which was missed the first time round (thus the whole dash removal).

Unfortunately, it's not the cable. So took the car down to Ford, and they came back and said the thermostat is broken, and while checking that also spotted a fuel injector leaking. Luckily, still under warranty. All this broken stuff after hitting a huge pothole and flat spotting an alloy, wonder if that started it all in the first place.

Has anyone experience no heating with the MK2? While driving I heard a clunk sound, then afterwards my vents just blows cold air. How big of a problem is it to fix?

Ah, sorry for the misunderstanding. As the Eibach dampers aren't adjustable, agreed they are not going to further lower the vehicle, but I would have assumed they will still improve handling. To clarify, is FINIS 1550105 Eibach dampers for the MK2 or MK2.5?

Wait a sec, dampers for £150, is this each or a full set front and rear?

I do believe Ford does have specific Eibach springs for the diesel, as when I bought them from Tezza a while back he was explaining to me that diesels springs are stiffer and thus have a different FINIS code. Ford ETIS should have specific details of features installed in factory according to VIN details.

Anyone know where I can purchase the Eibach dampers for the MK2? I've already got the springs from Ford.

Which versions have people chosen to run on their STs? 22mm or 24mm? Both front and rear or just one?

Maybe it's just me, but last time I checked the Philips Xtreme Power were only available in H7 and H4, but it now appears H1 is also available!

Your service intervals are either by year or mileage (every 12500), whichever is SOONER. First year or 12500 minor Second year or 25000 major Third year or 37500 minor So it really depends how many service have been recorded in the maintenance log, basically if your next service is an odd number then it's minor, even number then it's major service. Go to http://www.etis.ford.com and check the service guidance there.

Are these lamps prelocked in "straight ahead" positions?

Are you referring to blinds that just clips to your window, or the built-in ones that you pull up from the door trims? If the door trim version, I have had a quick check with tezza before, doable but quite tedious and expensive. Otherwise the pop in ones from OE Sunshade/Palm Automotive are fairly good, the company sells direct on ebay too.

Unfortunately Vredestein has somehow decided to discontinue the Ultrac in 205/50/17 form, otherwise would have bought some myself.

For those that have the factory sunroof, would you mind measuing how big the glass panel is on the roof? I'm trying to work out what size I should be aiming for with an aftermarket one.

With the sun out and seeing all those convertibles top coming off, got me thinking whether a sunroof was ever an option on the MK2? If not has anyone ever installed an aftermarket one? If you do have pics on a MK2 with sunroof, please post pics inside and out, thanks.

From the service portfolio: "Interim Service after 1 year/12500mi, followed by a Major Service after 2 years/25000mi." Now which does that mean, it's a little confusing to me when I read it:- A) Minor Service Year 1, Major Service Year 2 B) Minor Service Year 1, Major Service Year 3 Now according to ETIS:- Year 1 Interim Year 2 Major Year 3 Interim So it seems to me it should be A, I just want to clarify this as getting it wrong may have an impact when you need something done under warranty.

Does anyone know where is the horn located in the Focus? I want to change it to a louder one for the benefit of those silly drivers who don't check the mirrors before changing lanes.

According to ETIS, should be a "major" service. If possible get a checklist of Allen Ford's major and minor service, then compare that with ETIS, you would have thought it's the same but who knows? Oh and if you do get any luck with AF, share it with us as I'm going to get my car service with them too (as they are only down the road from me).
