  1. Excellent :) Thanks very much - I was concerned that it couldn't be re-coded, but that's good to know! Cheers Kev
  2. Hey folks, Probably been asked before, but I did have a quick search and couldn't find a definative answer. I've aquired a spare flip key from a car that sadly no longer exists, getting a new blade and cutting doesn't appear to be too much of a problem, the question is: Can the transponder be recoded for my car, if not can I get a blank chip from Ford or is the key a lost cause? Cheers Kev
  3. really?! blimey, what a rip! I would have assumed that it was covered as part of the normal service - being they've got to stamp the book anyway!
  4. If I recall correctly, paint / bodywork is covered by a 10 year warranty. I'd contact yur local dealer and see what they say.
  5. I'll admit that it was only Saturday, but seems to be doing a better job of covering it than bumper black - I'll report back later in the week :)
  6. yeah, pretty much - I left it a few mins and rubbed with some kitchen towel to remove the excess, treated a couple of times and then washed the car to make sure that it was off the paint. Jury is still out on if it's worked 100%, but it's looking good on the polish, wax that's been hanging around for the last 8 months that I've not been able to shift to date (damn my rush to get the job done) Can't hurt to try £2.99 can vs £60+ on new strips.... :)
  7. Out of interest, have you tried WD40 to remove the over-wax? Seems to have done the trick on mine....
  8. Hi there, Not sure yet, a couple have a few scuffs on as I mis-judged a kerb, nothing too major, just the very edge, you might be able to make it out in the 1st picture...
  9. No probs - not too sure about the jack being different, would assume that it's a one-size fits all (but don't quote me on that) I didn't get round to getting the wheel in the end, since I had to wait for the tyre - it was quicker to get a new tyre of the one that I needed at the time! Still looking at breakers yards....
  10. Hi Phil, I think the wheel was fairly cheap, £15-25 but then you add the tyre on at about £50-70 I think, plus jack kit and stuff, soon adds up! Kev
  11. I think the ones local to me had the wheel, but no tyre - local indies would have been overnight as the tyre is an odd size
  12. Hey Phil, You can pick them up from a dealer, but I found them quite expensive wheel + tyre + jack etc soon adds up - might be worth checking ebay or a local breakers.... Kev
  13. Thanks! Indeed I did - though I've been lurking for a while now In a way, I'm glad to know that it's not just mine - that said, what a pain! I take it that yours is back at SRC from your comments in the other thead and the fact that you've got an Astra?
  14. Ah, cheers! Done that many many times, but hasn't solved the problem -maybe the megane set my expectations too high (which is a real suprise as it was the only thing it did well!)
