I can live with the positioning of the hand brake.. but the lack of a foot rest is annoying. :x Is the foot rest available on the ghia or titanium?

Yes, an auto is a must cos me missus driving it as well.. :) I know the VCT is not available in auto in the UK, but how about in other countries? Our dealers here didn't bring in any diesels.. and manual trans is only available in the 5-dr... Cheers

Looking for an auto trans MkII in sedan... so test drove the auto 1.6l 100bhp petrol version today and boy was I disappointed. :( Moving off from stationary felt extremely sluggish and the engine was protesting like crazy (revving above 3000rpm)! Can anyone tell me whether this is normal? At these revs, the FC's (and my ear drums) gonna be a killer. Other gripes are the car doesn't have a foot rest and the front centre armrest is only an optional item. Otherwise, the car looks good, is extremely stable and the build quality is top class. Pardon my ignorance but can someone tell me whether the 1.6l Ti-VCT engine (115PS) is available in auto transmission? Is the 1.6l petrol engine (100PS) in the mk2 focus taken from the mk1? Would you consider this engine to have high fuel consumption compared to other 1.6l cars? Thanks for the help in advance! :)
