  1. havnt got a pic, but i just put the jack in 1 of the elastic things at the side of the boot. if some1 has got their jack to fit under the space saver then i might try again. Just got it fitted in no probs. The underside of the wheel has 2 gaps where a jack can fit, so I just sized the jack to fit, and placed it all in carefully, and no rocking at all! Happy days. Now if I can get a screw thing to hold it all in place I'll as happy as the proverbial!
  2. I know this might be VERY cheeky (what with me being new round these parts 'n all) but if anyone has the space saver spare, could you take a wee pic of what it looks like under the tyre? The jack from the full-size seems to fit, but the wheel rocks slightly (it's as if it's a wee bit too tall) and sits snug without the jack, so I was wondering if the jack/placement is any different for the smaller wheel...
  3. Got the wheel today, and also got a rubber boot liner, so the carpet isn't a problem. But the bolt/retainer that holds the wheel in place: I assume these are shorter on the space saving wheels, as mine is obviously intended for the full size wheel.
  4. Yeah, I think the full-size tyre takes up a helluva lot of space in the boot, easily 5-6 inches or so, hence wanting to swap it for the mini steel wheel. Salesman was off today, so will ring tomorrow to see if he can maybe even swap the full-size for the mini... Cheeky, I know, but if you don't ask... ;o)
  5. Yowza!! Thanks Kev!! I assume the jack is a different size to the one with the full-size wheel (hence the need for a new one)?
  6. If I put it in the "middle" setting, ie not permanently on or off, then the light stays on when I start the ignition and stays on. If I turn the ignition off, get out of the car, and lock it etc, after 10 mins, the light is STILL on. This didn't happen with the Fiesta, and so I'm assuming it's a fault. I've opened the bonnet, boot, and all doors, and closed them to see if that's the problem, and it still happens. So maybe a faulty sensor somewhere, if it's not the fuse?
  7. Well that definitely doesn't happen, and that's what I expected to happen given the similarities between the Fiesta and Focus in terms of switches etc. Wonder if it's just a faulty fuse or something?
  8. Okay, so I got my new (to me, anyway, was a Feb 08 car) Focus Zetec yesterday, having been a Fiesta (don't laugh!!) driver for a few years. Most of the controls are the same, but the cabin light seems to stay on forever when set in the "middle" setting. On the Fiesta, turning the ignition would turn the light out, same as locking the doors. But on the Focus, it just seems to stay on. For ages!! Is this normal?
  9. Thanks Kev. I assume they'd not be in stock at dealers, and would probably need to be ordered in?
  10. Hi Just picked up my first Focus a few hours ago. It's from Ford Direct, Feb 08 (mk 2.5) and it's superb: I'm in love already! When the salesman was showing it to me, he mentioned that it was a full-size spare (I think the car was a former Hertz car). Looking at the Focus brochure, this was obviously an optional extra. But can you buy the space savers from Ford? A search on Google doesn't bring anything obvious back to me, but the full-size wheel seems to take up a bit more room in the boot, and with a kid on the way in June, the more space we can get, the better. Would the dealer (or any
