  1. Hi all This aerial base is advertised under the C-Max section, but instead of being the one piece aerial, it looks like a bas that then uses a screw on aerial mast. (You have to scroll down the page to find the aerial base) http://www.allforcars.co.uk/acatalog/Fo ... Audio.html So, is the C-Max aerial base actually the same as, say, a Fiesta, but made to be a one piece unit instead of a standard base with screw on mast? If so, I might buy this base as I will be able to use a standard Ford screw on mast with it. Cheers Froglet
  2. I'll take a look over the weekend. Is it easy to get the interior light out? Where can I buy an aftermarket aerial that will fit? I might buy it and see if I can fit it myself. That is the same symptom we had before I discovered the aerial was actually broken. It looked fine, but when I started fiddling with it, the mast just came clean off in my hand. You might want to check that there definitely is no damage to the aerial. Cheers all Froglet
  3. Hi all The aerial on our C-Max had an altercation with an auto car wash, and lost! Ford want £95 to replace the aerial :( I was wondering if anyone new if it is a difficult job replacing the aerial by ones self? I'm sure I could get one fairly cheap from a breakers yard, but would it be possible for a double left handed manual dumbo like me (manual tasks are not my thing, gimmie a computer console any day!) to replace it? Even better if someone has actually done it, and can give brief instructions. Many thanks Froglet
  4. I've noticed lately that my O4 C-Max stinks to high heaven after start up and in low speed. I can only descibe it as rotten eggs :!: Apart from the embarrassment factor, is it something I need to worry about? What causes it? Is it low quality fuel (it's a diesel)? Should I avoid supermarket fuel? Also I switched on the aircon some weeks back and although the light lit up, it clearly wasn't working as the air didn't turn cold at all. Any ideas what could be the reason it's suddenly stopped working and how much would it cost to repair :?:
  5. Hmm, could be the spare. I have the spare in my jacket pocket. I'll check with the wife if she gets this when I'm not in the car. Cheers Froglet (AKA Kevin)
  6. Thanks Nick As it seems to be a code 14, am I to assume that this code is not too important, or should I be concerned? "Code 14 Part of the transponder code received" Is there any reason it should happen on a frequent basis? I don't recall this being an issue before last week, but now it does it probably on at least 50% of the time. Cheers Froglet (AKA Kevin)
  7. During the last couple of days, each time the missus starts the car, the centre red light flashes like a girl after a weekend binge drinking session! :) I think it is flashing the code 1-4 Does anyone have any idea what this code is. It could have been 1-4-1 although I'm fairly sure it was 1-4. Cheers Froglet (AKA Kevin)
  8. OK, so I managed to get the headlight unit out of the car with no problems 8) Managed to get the back off the headlight unit 8) All I need to do now is move the lever, right??? OK, I'm feeling REALLY dumb now, 'cos for the life of me, I just can't see the damn lever!! :brickwall Somebody please describe what I'm looking for? I know it should be obvious, but I'm just not seeing it! (duh!!) :splat:
  9. Hi all Anybody know what size screwdriver is required to remove the xenon headlamp unit so that I can get at the lever to change for continental driving? Cheers Froglet (AKA Kevin)
  10. From a Ford dealer, or private sale? If from a dealer, you should have a 12 month warranty, but if private sale, and the cars original 3 year warranty has expired, I guess there's nothing you can do but shell out for a new one. :(
  11. ROFL!
  12. Well, I haven't had an invoice from RAC yet, so I guess they managed to get our details from Ford I have to say, it's a pitty it's so hard to find a good dealer. Sadly, I hear similar stories with regard many car makers. My sister could tell some stories about how she was treated by Renault in Slough. FMC themselves have actually been a real surprise. They call the dealer regularly to presure them to sort out our issues. They call us EXACTLY when they say they will (which is rare these days). FMC have told me to find a new dealer, as they say they fully undestand that I have lost confidenc
  13. Don't know about the battery, but my sanity is definitely buggered!!
  14. Hi guys After the bad experience we had with the dealership during the service about a month ago, the battery drained yesterday. Couldn't start the car. I was waiting in the freezing cold for my parnter to pick me up. My partner opened the bonnet to find a big metal bar in the engine. Yep, during the service, they left what looks like a socket or something in the engine. It's a long heavy round metal bar, whith a square hole at one oen which looks like it would fit something like the wheel nuts. RAC then refused to come out to jump start the car (no neighbours around, all out shopping
