hey np mate i hate to see people being ripped off when they buy these gold plated wonders, people pay over the odds for gold plated SCART cables its ridiculous now if you had a gold plated connection already then *maybe* it would make a difference if the metal matched

Martinmw, gold plating wont make any difference as the metal used with the aux connection will probably not be gold, if the connections arnt the same metal type it wont make any diff unfortunately, im sure gandalf or cirrus could confirm this

slacker im sure i had this discussion with someone before over whether the 2nd gen sony had a cd changer connection on the back as i had the "connects 2" adapter from my old MK1 you got my hopes up then :lol:

it shouldnt really work that way mate, as time progresses you should get more for your money :D its really only a problem for my passenger mind and she has learned to lock it from her side, being a woman she thinks everyones out to get her :roll: :lol:

zetecm4plm i too had the same confirmed today, turns out its is no fault but it was made this way on a purpose, these seems like a step backwards imho and i am going to complain to ford about it anyone got a mailing address for them, thanked the garage for their time, the receptionist even had an argument with one of the technicians saying her KA did it :lol: bless her, he shut her up by showing her a 56 plate with it and another 57 without :(

the girl at the ford garage i booked it in with say she checked he Ka when she got home and even her's did it :shock: so she said surely it must work on a better car :wink:

ahhh its an aussie one might explain it, are you sure the radio frequencies will be ok? when i worked in halfords we often had people with jap imports coming in needing new stereos as the origional ones were attuned to japanese radio. it was still FM but there is a difference in the way their radios tune apparently, hopefully the Oz one is different

id be curious to see if you get a bug that i have too, is this the more rounded sony single disk MP3 one? if so sometimes when i unlock the car and open the car to get in the screen should light up with the time (so the radio 'turns on' but not fully like a standby) on odd occasions the screen wont light up and you have to press the on/off button to even get the time

interesting! i dont think its related to that as the central locking from the remote works on all the appropriate places, might set that up after its fixed though, if ford will fix it :roll:

nope didnt even know that existed! just one button blip and it unlocks fully as far as i can tell you, all the car locks fully after one blip, after a second blip it dead locks. drivers side door interior lock engages all the locks passenger does not, and in all the other cars ive owned (even a v reg corsa it worked!)
