  1. lol, no, had the backbox of the exhaust chopped out, a couple of bends welded in. flared and slitted the end of the exhaust , removed downward bend from exhaust on car, so it was straight. Slitted end of ST exhaust slides over car exhaust, fixed in place with a clamp and hangers. Seemples......
  2. As RB says, the backbox is the issue with the footwell. If you know a decent fabricator/welder they should be able to do a job for you, that is what i had done with mine. Just a bit of chopping and welding needed.... I looked at a piper but it was over £400, a little bit out of my price range.. :( I bought my exhaust from Ebay, and was lucky as i got it for a few quid.
  3. Hi, i am sure tezza can give you a ford part number and price for them. They just pull off to remove them, starting with the horizontal strip at the top, then unclip the surround itself. If they are colour coded, you will have to buy them primed, and have them sprayed yourself, if not, you can get a direct replacement. P.s. have a look on Ebay if you are in no rush...... hope this helps....
  4. It's done to fit a child seat on the front passenger seat.....
  5. Not 100% sure about this, i am guessing you have a MK2. The only thing i can think of checking is if you remove your front courtesy/map light unit (the one on the roof that comes on when doors are opened), as i remember there is a kind of ribbon cable that is bolted to the chassis above there. Always worth a look to see if the nut has come loose or if there is any damage to the ribbon at all, not that it will be repairable if the ribbon is damaged, not without a lot of grief anyways. Failin' that, it sounds ill to me, maybe an auto electrician could have a look and maybe say what is wron
  6. here is a keyswitch that can be fitted inside the glovebox, in conjunction with the one on the front centre console that will de-activate the passenger airbag for the duration of that journey.. As far as i am aware the keyswitch may have to be set to disable position every journey.. Not 100% sure.....
  7. Hi, looks like the airbag switch connector, usually fitted behind one of the blanking plates next to the heated screen switches.....
  8. Exhaust manifolds would be completely different, turbo would be needed (if you wsih), turbo radiator/cooler, new speedo clocks, gearbox and gearshift linkage, brakes would need changing (does that include a larger brake servo??), not 100% sure on that one.... plus, probably more things i have missed....
  9. Totally agreed, i went from 16 to 17, no problems with the speedo. Will be going to 18 shortly.....
  10. well, i thought the tyre diameter was smaller, to compensate for the larger alloy wheel. E.g. the larger the alloy the smaller the diameter of tyre needed. The overall diameter of wheel + tyre never changes, surely??? I know lots and lots of people who have upgraded wheel size and tyre sizes accordingly with no problems at all This is 16" alloys to 17" alloys, 16" to 18" with no speedo issues at all. The wheel dimensions stay the same ?????
  11. Hi Dennis, Personally, i would save for the alloys, for an increase of around 9bhp, £240 is a lot of money to spend on it. I do not even think you would get a lot more from it with the cone filter/exhaust really. Mine is also 100Bhp, but for a 1.6 i think the performance is great really for this engine with no turbo. Plus if you pay your £240 , how much would extra would it cost on your insurance for the modification?? I just like the aesthetic looks of the car, currently in the process of fitting ST back bumper with st lookalike exhaust, lol.
  12. It is shown by a letter on the data plate on the drives door sill, think 100pas is "D" and 115 pas is "E" in one of the boxes on the left. Cannot remember, will look @ Etis as soon as i have time and post the answer along with the drawing of the plate / breakdown of symbols.... Dennis, why do you want your car chipping?? More BHP i expect? Companies such as Bluefin will sell you a chip gladyl, but for around £240 wou will only get around a 6-9 BHP increase, does not seem worth it really to me. Bit more info on linky below about the 100 / 115 PAS models... http://www.ffoc.co.uk/module
  13. Hi mate, i have nog got a similar original st exhaust (same as this one) I knew the backbox would not fit, this is going to be removed and a straight pipe welded in it's place, with an angled pipe welding/spliced in(reduced at the end) to line up with my existing exhaust (will have to cut the downward angled part off). Hopefully these can then be joined together with a jointing piece and clamps or a flexible exhaust coupling. :)
