James - have fords given u info on the Options deals? (i.e. the finance deals, not the options packs etc) I was going to order Focus 2, but wanted to know the MGFV to enable me to work out rough repayments.

Anyone have any idea/info yet as to what the Options deals are going to be? I planned to purchase my ST via the Options scheme, but Im not sure if the MGFV for any of the plans has been announced as yet? Anyone have any experience of any other previously anticipated new Ford launches and how this affects the MGFV? On some previous launches I seem to recall ppl were able to purchase the car, drive it for a year or so and then sell it for little to no loss - that just rumour or fact? Any guidance appreciated.

I dont see the issue here. The ST isnt meant to be the new RS, I am sure that a higher end RS will turn up within the next 2 years. The new ST will be better than the existing ST, and yes it is supposed to be faster than the RS round the nuremburg by 8 seconds or so. The new RS will be even faster, I dont think the ST is supposed to compete for peoples affections, it will just be a great car at the high end of the new focus range. The ST is supposed to be the `dolphin` rather than the `Shark`, if that delivers a great all round car that delivers a bucket load of fun then great - its cert
