  1. Just an old member & a Fiat driver wishing you all a very merry Christmas and best wishes for the coming new year ! :x-mas:
  2. Nicola, Sounds very similar to the problems we encountered that were eventually tied down to EGR valve related. Ours only ever did it if we stopped the engine and then tried to start it again within only a couple of minutes. Like you say, It coughed & spluttered a few times, but after a few attempts, ran ok.
  3. 20% light transmittance, therefore darker because it allows less light through
  4. Didn't know they made the diesel engine in Devon
  5. Hope this isn't an ex girlfriend you are talking about !
  6. More than 'slight' on the Max ! If it wasn't for the law in this country, I think I would have the fronts tinted to match the rears.
  7. There is no darkness limit in the UK on the rear windows. It's only the front windows that are now an issue, and normally as standard the manufacturer tints up to the legal limit, therefore any additional application of film takes it over the legal requirement.
  8. Blimey Andy, you were up early this morning ! Wife too excited to sleep ?
  9. Leather seats on the C-Max always come with heated option
  10. Nice to hear that there is someone else out there with a similar dislike towards football Dennis. Over-paid big girls blouses ! Going on holiday next tuesday and really looking forward to seeing all those England shirts.......... NOT ! The Greeks will probably be even more impressed.
  11. Due to fathers work. Was made redundant as a textile designer and the only avenue open was back up North. We lived in Bransgore from 1974 to 1977. Drought and forest fires in 1976 were particularly exciting. I take it you have visited Bransgore then ? Great picture by the way. Those Springers are mad aren't they ? My little munchkin :
  12. Must take this opportunity to appologise for going completely off topic !
  13. Looks a nice area Dennis. We lived between Ringwood & Christchurch in a small village called Bransgore. Will always remember it fondly. Obviously it would have been much better without the Southerners, even though we did our level best to populate the surrounding area with the odd Northern family. Didn't ever visit your neck of the woods though. Probably only went as far as Wareham & Blandford Forum. 'Monkey World' was always a favourite destination. Any family members there Gazza ?
  14. I remember getting a lot of stick for my Northern accent when I lived in the new Forest. Where abouts in Dorset are you Dennis ?
  15. Must agree with Nicola ......... Leather is the way to go. I have a five year old and cream leather interior. Hate to think what the car would look like with cloth seats. I would ask the sevice desk to let you have a butchers at the cars history. Manufactured date, registered date, recall information (rear wiper assembly), service details and any claims on warranty, eg. EGR valve replacement. There should also be a list of TSB's that may have been carried out. Glad to help where I can ! Regards, Scottie
  16. Here we are then .................. back to that great North / South divide
  17. You mentioned Ghia, and there have been a few issues with the seat cloth (if thats what is in this car). This was the main reason why I went with the leather option. Apparently, the cloth over a period of time becomes baggy and the surface bobbles. We looked at a few 04 and 54 plate cars with seats that looked over 5 years old. The rest of the trim in our own car has been fine, but please expect a few rattles and squeaks etc. The engine is a fine piece of kit, but you will already have seen various mentions of EGR valve problems. Best to check that the garage has carried out all known issues.
  18. It's a new one on me ..................... MASTERTECH :!:
  19. Bitten by a dog at an early age gazza ?
  20. I'm starting to come round to your way of thinking (which is obviously worrying  ) and the more I look at the photo, the better they look. I bet they are an expensive alloy to purchase through Ford though.
  21. Nice looking car, but not sure if that particular style of alloy is right for the C-Max. Full marks for the individuality though !
