  1. I noticed it does like to be taken right up to the 5-6k range, my old 306 was useless past 3.5-4k so was changing up way too early when I first started driving the Focus.
  2. Uh-oh... Took the latch off, gave it a clean overnight, put it back on this morning and checked, the warning light is still there, but now I can't open the bonnet as when I turn the key it doesn't fully turn the release latch, only partially. I think the white rod that connects to the front might not be connected properly. Tried pushing the grill to connect it better, but no luck :( Also a new sensor is £50 as its part of the latch mechanism and can't be seperated (I tried!)
  3. I live in a remote place and work has a secured car park so not too worried about just single locking it for the moment, just would be nice to repair the current one and prevent it happening again, might be something that can help others!
  4. Quick update. Predictably Evans Halshaw's warranty wont cover any type of switch, only mechanical failure. Will try taking the switch apart and giving it a good clean and see if I can find what caused it in the first place, failing that Tezza will be getting another message! Will let you know how it goes.
  5. Crud, i'm miles away from the local dealer, but will see if they will ship me the part, or I can ask Tezza. Any idea what causes them to go? Water ingress? Just wonder if I can delay it happening again. Thanks again :)
  6. Thanks Menzies, will check with *dun dun DUN* Evans Halshaw first (hence my doubt that warranty will be vaild) and see if they can just send me the part, looks easy enough to replace. I'm assuming its the whole bonnet latch? Seen some MK1s on eBay for a tenner, despite looking identical, they say they aren't compatible..
  7. Any idea how much these are? Mine is just about to go outside the 3 month warranty. Doubt they will be kind enough to cover it.
  8. Have had this error pop up a few times since I got my focus, but tonight it set the alarm off and won't double lock. I've tried cleaning and lubrication the bonnet pin at the front/centre of the engine bay which I assume is the only sensor? It's really stiff but the bonnet closes fine, this is the first time that it has refused to double lock. Also found out the alarm works... Any advice? Had a search but didnt find much useful, some people have it go with the windows which is an interior fuse box lead, but this seems isolated.
  9. Checked last night and my 2.0l petrol does 70mph @ 3,000 RPM (a tad under if anything) Struck me as quite high for an engine this size, but seems to have a widish power band..
