  1. Quality wise they are probably equal. Exterior design on the new focus has been a major dissappointment to me. Everybody can see the reasons with their own eyes. Looks like the next Mondeo will bring Ford back on track in terms of design, and probably the next Focus too. It's only Ford's luck that the other manufacturers haven't been able to take advantage. Although the Golf GTI is starting to look good suddenly.
  2. thanks guys for the answers. My opinion is that it is very loud, maybe due to other noises being very well insulated, or that the tube which brings the vroom sound from the engine to the cabin also brings the whistle. Also that it exists with light throttle is a surprise. Usually the turbo kicks in when accelerating, but maybe this one has a standby whistle:). well, Iäm obviously not a technician. anyone with that competence could comment.
  3. I test drove a Focus ST today. Great ride, but the whistling sound which reminds me of a vacuum cleaner started bugging me a lot. It appears even when pressing the gas lightly and in low revs, regular driving that is. Is that a "feature", or was it some kind of a fault in that particular car I drove? My guess is, it's not a fault, but probably the turbo, but then I must say it is exceptionally loud (not that I've driven many turbos, but I don't think even the old Saab 900 turbo was that loud). What do you guys say? Should I go check my ears?
  4. awesome! I am surprised about the color debate. I'd assume that that kind of minimal differences in in tone can happen on any car, and the reason is that the surface is different material and could e.g. reflect light a bit differently. Anyways, it doesn't bug me. Excellent choice of color. Any more pics welcome.
  5. wow! Very nice!! Hope to see a pic also from straight behind. thanks
