  1. The car is MY54 Zetec which DO have side curtain airbags on ALL models, according to the specs. I obvioulsy don't expect front aibags to deploy on a side impact, but I do expect side airbags to deploy. As I said if anyone would have been in the front passenger seat they would have been hurt. The inside of the door pushed in nearly as much as you can see on the outside. Also I didn't mention that my 6 year old daughter was in a child seat in the back on that side of the car. It didn't detect her? Doesn't the CMAX have NCAP4 rating for rear passenger/child protection? I have written to Fo
  2. Yeah but the seat belt light only works for the driver? (MY54 Zetec)
  3. The estimate from the authorised repairers was £7500. The front wing, bonnet, rear bumper, drivers rear wheel and I think roof may have been damaged. I believe the add 25% to the estimate to cover themselves. To be honest I wouldn't want the car back as it probably won't drive the same. I didn't expect the front bags to go off but the side curtain bags would have protected any passenger. Do they have detectors in the front seat to sense a passenger? I would be surprised. Still no harm done and a new car in a couple of weeks so can't grumble really. Thanks John
  4. Hi all, I've just found this site so hello. Please advise. I've a 2.0 TDCi Zetec and my wife pulled out infront of another car and was hit side-on the other week. Luckily no was hurt but the car was wriiten off :( . However I was shocked that NONE of the airbags deployed, especially given the damage to the passenger door. If I had been sitting there I would have been definately hurt. I suspect the airbag mech was faulty, possibly not connected up properly when the steering wheel was replaced recently (blistering). Is there any way I can prove this or raise it as an issue with Ford.
