    Focus MK2
  1. Mk2FocusGhia, I was thinking about getting some for my MK2, but like you, read a whole load of reviews and there weren't that many positive ones. Most people said that the rings were a horrible yellowy colour and that the light spread was really bad compared to the standard headlights. This was enough to put me off and so I spent a little extra on some projectors. Worth it. If you find a good set, let me know!
  2. Good luck. I tried to separate two headlights. First one with a hairdrier which didn't melt the glue at all, so I put it in the oven and it melted within 3 minutes. I then tried another headlight in the oven on half the temperature, checking it every minute but the glue wouldn't budge. It then started to melt.. It's 100 times easier with the MK1/MK1.5 lights! If you do manage it, let me know and you can do mine for me!!
  3. I tried it twice and both times I couldn't get the lens off. How the hell did you manage?!
  4. tried putting it in the oven and ended up with a liquid light haha. will try again.. did you do it to spray the insides?
  5. Has ANYbody done this to their MK2 front headlights? I thought it would be easy - steps seem straight-forward. But I can't for the life of me get the damn things open! Admittedly, I haven't tried baking them yet, just tried a hairdryer, but even so, there doesn't appear to be any budge from the lens at all.. I can't seem to find anything about this on Google either, so if anyone has done this, please give me a few hints and tips  Cheers, -E
  6. Have you fitted the brackets yet? I recently ordered them and fitted them but whilst the radio sat flush with the fascia, the fascia no longer sat flush with the a/c buttons.. Maybe I fitted them incorrectly, but I couldn't find a secure way of fitting the brackets? Reckon you could take a picture of your brackets when they're fitted? Thanks! -E
  7. RS500LOVER, I've not actually done this myself, but I remember seeing that you don't need to replace the whole dash, just the plastic section that is normally a storage compartment.
  8. Best thing to do is try find a set on eBay and just watch them until they finish - that way you get the ending price, you can see what the starting price was, and you can see if there was any interest any them (number of bids etc) - it gives you a pretty good indication :)
  9. When I bought my Ghia, it had the 16" Ghia alloys on it from standard that had a few kerb marks on them and had tyres that had done less than 1000 miles. I got £360 for them on eBay if I remember, with the starting bid at £100. -E
  10. Found this today while reaching for money I'd dropped in the footwell.. Its located beneath the steering wheel directly under the switch/dial for the headlight? Anybody got any idea what this is used for? Cheers -E
  11. nope, no ford badge, whereas the new one does! I've heard of that in a couple of industries as well, my iPhone was changed from a black to a white one and the parts the guy bought first were 'OEM', which meant it wasn't a manufacturer's product. But I compared it to a friends genuine MK2 ST wheel and there are slight differences. I've bought an MK2.5 wheel anyway, so I'm going to have to ask for a complete set for Christmas :P I bought the replicas from eBay. Damnit! I got the genuine alloy from a website that sells Ford parts (obviously..) FordPartsUk maybe? I can check for you later
  12. Haha well, the alloy that was knackered caused the tyre that was on it to start eating itself too, so I lost the alloy and the tyre! Turned the knackered alloy over to find the words "NOT O.E.M" stamped on the inside! Needless to say I was annoyed! Bought myself a new ST alloy along with a new tyre but the centre cap doesn't fit.. think it might be the same size just the plastic 'teeth' that clip into the centre are a bit closer to the centre.. if that makes any sense!
  13. Hi guys, Anybody able to tell me the size or FINIS number of the centre cap for an MK2.5 ST alloy please? Thanks -E
  14. How do you mean? There was a removable mat in the space where the ashtray now sits but there was no screw.. :(
