Thanks lads. I ended up running wire directly from the battery on the underside iof the car. All seems to be working ok.

I've got a 06 plate CMAX 2.0TDCi Zetec. Towbar and 12N socket fitted ok ! 12S socket pending. Where's the best place to take a 12v supply for my towbar 12S socket ? And before you say the 12v socket in the boot, I've tried that and it blew the fuse. Do I need to get a supply direct from the battery all the way into the boot ? If so how do I get it from the passenger footwell into the engine compartment ? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Scunnymackem

Recently bought a 1.6TDCi. Anybody else towed a caravan (we've got a 950kg GRP sided Abbey Domino) . Mini MPVs generally get good write-ups relating to towing ability. The 1.6 diesel can tow up to 1300kg oficially but I would be interested in anybodys opinion as to how well it performs ??

Recently purchased a 1.6TDCi Zetecon a 04 plate. It turns out that it has a fault that did not show itself until I had driven the car for 200 miles. Without warning the power is lost (but not completely). The car goes into 'limp home' mode and refuses to rev at all. Pick up is very slow and hills are a nightmare. The problem seems to clear itself if the engine is turned off for any length of time. Does this sound like the EMC problem that I have read so much about on this forum ? Or could it be something else ? My dealer says that he hasnt got the EMC upgrade available but I would have thought
