  1. I re-visited my local Dealer yesterday and persuaded them to mix me a little pot, that won't be done until next week, apparently there are two mixes of this paint so they have got to find the right one. I have asked for a seperate pot of hardener so I can mix the paint up as and when I want it, that means the paint should last me a little longer (hopefully, I won't need anymore). The bodyshop seemed happy to deal with me for 2 reasons, the company I work for and the fact I was happy to pay for it, I suggest anybody else who goes down this route offers to pay for the mix rather than want/expe
  2. I've tried Ford Customer Service who have confirmed that Ford will not supply paint sticks as they say the colour won't match, (well something similar is better than nothing) I've even tried Lamborghini who's orange paint (I've been told) is the same as Ford's orange, but they don't sell paint stick's either. Back to my local bodyshop I think. Thanks for the Chipsaway idea though.
  3. I agree with you on this, I will try again with my local Dealer.
  4. I've actually bought an orange touch up from a local motor factor store, it's a darker shade, but like you say, it's now protecting the paint. Just want the right colour now.
  5. Unfortunately, Ford's solution is, "take your car to a Ford bodyshop" I've given it some thought and I don't see why the water based paint couldn't be applied and then add a lacquer top coat to seal it ? It's only a small chip, but like many owner's who look after their cars, it sticks out like a sore thumb to me, nobody else can see it though unless you are really looking for it. Any bodywork experts out there.
  6. I have a small chip on the edge of the drivers door, I've tried to get a paint stick through Ford, after several days of waiting, Ford have notified me that due to the special paint, Ford will not be releasing any paint sticks or aerosol cans for Electric Orange. I then tried the bodyshop at the local Ford Dealer and was told that the paint is water based, so they couldn't mix me a pot up and if they did touch up the paint, it would come off the next time the cars was washed unless it was baked on. Has anybody else got any (sensible) idea's
