  1. Mastertech, It will work because she will be able to move the seat back (which has to be forward now to enable the accelerator to be pushed down properly) so that her ankle will not be bent back so far when pushing down the clutch
  2. Good Idea about the online price but, I had another look at the hight of the Focus pedals I noticed that its not realy the clutch that's high (it's about the same as the brake) but it's the acelerator that is low. Soooooo is there a way to adjust the acelerator to be higher, ie in line with the clutch. Sorry about all this buggering about
  3. GreenFocusGia, In reply to your question, She has test driven 6 different Focus models at 2 different dealers (at my request) to see which suits her, 2 x 1.6 100 petrol. 2 x 1.6 115 petrol, and 2 x 1.6 109 TDCI. All except the very first one she tried (a 1.6 100 petrol) have the same problem of bending back her ankle too much and making her ankle ache. For some reason the first one fitted her very well, infact she said when she got out how comfortable it was and how everything just seemed to suit her. Thats why we are looking to find out what we can do to make the Focus fit her. (cheaper than
  4. The problem is that I haven't bought the car yet, & it will be either an LX or Sport 1.6 TDC 109 which my not have the adjustable pedal box as an option. What I was trying to find out is if there is anyway to either spec this option on an LX or Sport, retrofit the adjustable pedal box or do something else
  5. I don't suppose anyone knows anymore than this do they please
  6. Thanks for the info focusgia44, Thats a bit anoying, I wonder if adjustable pedals could be fitted afterwards (do you have them on yours)
  7. We haven't bought the car yet, as this will be my wifes car for work so it has to fit her. The adjustable pedals are something I haven't heard about and could just solve the problem. Do you have anymore details.
  8. Is there a way to lower the cluch pedal as it is to high for my wife. It makes her leg ache just above the ankle, as her ankle is bent back too far when she starts to press down the clutch pedel. If she moves the seat back to a position where her ankle is not bent so much, then she cannot reach the accelerator properly. We have tried all sorts of different seat hights and with the seat backwards & forwards. Any ideas, John
  9. Gra76, are you intending to keep your car a while or risk having to change the DPF at about 60,000 miles which sounds very expensive
  10. xanadu thanks for the reply, is yours the 110ps or 90ps engine as I am not very up on which engine is the TDDI John
  11. I would be keeping the car for at least 5 or 6 years. It just looks as though the 1.8 has more grunt, but is that countered by the extra weight. I haven't had a diesel before so thats why I am trying to get some advice. I suppose either would feel different to a petrol engined car.
  12. I have been looking at possably getting either the 1.6TDCI DPF Diesel or 1.8TDCI Diesel Focus LX. I see that the 1.8 is all iron and the 1.6 is alloy with the DPF. Is there much difference in the feel of the two engines and the fuel consumptions. Is there much difference in the reliability of the two engines. I also noticed that you have to renew the DPF at about 60,000 miles which is quite expensive. Which would people recommend for normal average use
  13. Does anyone know which colours as the most popular, and which are the least popular
  14. Thanks very much for all the answers to my origional question. We are going with the 115 engine and now must decide where to get it from in the Cleveland area (or other places if we can get a better deal)
