  2. To TomTom 70 (or any one else who can help), You kindly answered a question I posted regarding the 7" touchscreen SatNav I have installed in my C-Max. In your reply to me you stated: "There was an issue with wrong antenna cables (screws) breaking the antenna base (the pcb inside), have the dealer check the cable (screw) according to the TS* (no clue of the issue number, but he should be able to find it). The old part should be send back to Ford to have them investigate why it failed again." I phoned my local Ford dealer today and read out the reply you had givin me..(I could "feel" his eyes g

  4. Hi Dave, I have a June 2005 2.0Tdci Ghia with all the toys on..Leather SatNav, Climate, electric seats etc, etc. It seems to me that if you buy as late a model as possible then the majority of the problems you have read about should be ironed out. The only thing on mine so far are front parking sensors (bit of a gimmick anyway) beeping when they shouldnt..I have recently had my first service and asked the dealer to investigate..He said there was an "issue" which would mean a small amount of re-routing of the wiring loom...Something to do with the Electronics that the power steering uses interf
  5. thanks verymuch for that TomTom.. I dont need to ask you if you are a fan of the device you named yourself after ??
  6. Hi.. I have a Jun 2005 C-Max with the 7" touchscreen SatNav installed. There is a persistant problem with it that ceases to be cured.. The signal seems to go weak or disapear alltogether. For example I can be driving for an hour (or less) and the little indicator beacon seems to forget where I am and literally lose track of me. There is a symbol which is lit up on the screen that looks like a satelite with a cross through it..The manual says that it should never normally be seen as it only lights up if there is a weak signal or some sort of fault. I have taken it into the dealers and he replac
  7. Hi there from Th'North.. I took my car to the dealers last week for its first service (June 2005 2.0Tdci) and complained about the constant racket that the front parking sensors make when there is nothing visibly setting them off. The service manager went onto the "official website" and informed me that there was an "issue" with interference from the "Electro Hydraulic Power Steering mechanism". He said the cure was to re-route the wiring and then all should be well. I can report that its far better than it was..I wont say perfect but its 85% better than it was. I had got into the habbit of hi
  8. i have been using Millers Diesel fuel additive for the past three weeks or so. I have used this in the past on various other Diesel engined cars and have noticed on every occasion that the real improvements dont start till you cease using the aditive. Before using the Millers my 2.0 Tdci C-Max was doing 44mpg on a run.. It is now doing 56.5 mpg..I know this is correct because I recently did a trip to Wales and back..The reason I know this is because my total mileage was 192.1 miles and I used 3.4 gallons.. So any doubting Thomases out there are invited to do the Maths. My car is a June 2005 mo
  9. Max Headroom... I think this may be what you are looking for.. http://www.kleenwheels.co.uk/application_guide2.php Thanks for the info mate. Simon
  10. Thanks for all your replies.. Max Headroom..Do you mind me asking how much you paid for the Zetec wheels?? I am giving this more and more thought..
  11. I dont know about any of you Ghia owners out there but I find the cleaning of the 16" wheels that come as standard on the C-Max Ghia a real pain to clean.. I dont suppose there are any tricks I should know about are there? To be honest I am seriously thinking of offering a swap with the 16" Zetec version as they look easier to clean due to the increased amount of space between the spokes.. Mmmm . . . . SWAP !!! 16" C-Max Ghia wheels (very easy to clean haha) for 16" Zetec wheels..
  12. Now now Scott....I may take you up on your kind offer, but I dont know that I have Kevlar eardrums... Scott...One of these days we really must meet..It seems daft to live so close and yet only to e-mail each other...After all, if us C-Max owners dont offer each other moral support then we sure as heck wont get it from the Ford dealers !!! Hopefully chat soon mate for real. Regards, Simonarius de Stalmine
  13. Hi, I too have a damned annoying buzzer that is the front parking sensor.. It will even buzz when i am stationary and not remotely near any obstacle if I turn the steering wheel ! I complained to the main dealer and was told " The computer doesnt indicate an error".. Sod the computer....My first service is due in about 2 weeks and I intend to have the front sensors disconnected...After all I can usually see out of the front windscreen when I am parking !! So in case the dealer tries to "sort" the problem that doesnt exist according to "the computer", I too would like to know where the buzzer i
