  1. Thanks for the pics Kevin, much appreciated. I'm sold on the idea and will be calling my dealer today to add this to the order! Think i'll stick with the original springs for now, but that perf blue ST looks very nice indeeed. I look forward to seeing some pics of your ST once it arrives, i'm on for a June delivery as well (hopefully). Cheers, David.
  2. Hi there Just read your last post with interest Kevin, I must admit I think the Focus ST wheels really let the car down, they are somewhat over designed. The Mondeo wheels would look much better. I take it then from your post that its a straight swap? I've yet to approach my dealer about this as i'm still waiting for the car. Seems like a good price too.
  3. As far as UK spec cars go then just use the Ford UK website (if you've not done so already, of course  ). All the brochure info is on there and is probably more accurate to be honest. I'm afraid I have no idea about Aussie spec XR5s. I guess you could just call Ford Australia and see if they could send you some pre-release info. BTW, I wish Ford had called the car the XR5 over here too, have very fond memories of the XR range that used to be over here in the 80s and 90s. I dont think the label of "ST" has the same flair myself. To be able to tell my mates I drive an XR5 Turbo, just so
  4. Just got back from the dealership after sitting in their demo ST3 for about 20 mins (I think the salesman was getting a little bored  ) There is a slight foot rest, as some have mentioned on other threads. Its a raised area about one and a half cm higher than the foot well and as the foot well is angled nicely anyway its just about ok to rest your left foot. No where near as good as my Celica, but not uncomfortable either so I think it will be fine. Anyway, thanks for the feedback people. Much appreciated. I hope you all enjoy your Focii, unfortunately i've still got 2 months to wai
  5. Thanks for the reply. Not exactly what I wanted to hear. I'm heading out to the dealer tomorrow to take a better look and try some seat positions. It seems crazy to me that there is no foot rest. I drive a Toyota Celica as the moment and its foot rest is even in the same mock drilled metal effect as the pedals. Thanks again for your reply though.
  6. Hi all, I've just read elsewhere on this forum that the new Focus does not come with a left foot rest. Is this still the case? I've noticed that nobody has posted about this for some time, so I was wondering if Ford have changed the spec as they get their act together on RHD versions of the car. Anybody picked up a focus in the last couple of months with a foot rest? Now, i've test driven the ST3, and ordered one. And I can't for the life of me remember if it had a foot rest. I haven't been back to the dealer to check, which I will do soon. I guess the fact that I didn't notice is a good
  7. Thats great news. Its so good to hear some positive feed back. So many people on here having issues with their ST. I'm still looking at a June delivery, so here's hoping!
  8. Nicely done on the discount trb75. I didn't push it because I want to source the car from my local dealer as they have a good reputation for after sales support (so many people on this site seem to have problems!) I've noticed that even the online retailers are offering less discounts than a couple of months agao. DriveTheDeal is offering about £850 off a new ST3 that was over £1200 when I looked earlier in the year. When I called them they were looking at a September delivery. I may be paying retail, and I do know some people have got a grand off or more, but i'm not going to worry too much
  9. I've been reading all this with great interest. I've placed an order for an ST3 with DVD Sat Nav and BlueTooth about a week ago and my local dealer said that he should be able to get a car from May allocation with delivery in June, or worst case June allocation with delivery in July. I've been reading the board here and had written into the contract that if he can't source a car by 31st July then the deal is off and I get a full refund of my £500 holding deposit. The dealer was fine with this and said he's been ordering a steady stream of STs since launch. I can also say that i've been back
  10. 3dr ST3 Sea Grey with DVD Sat Nav and Premium Bluetooth. Waiting for delivery date but should be here in June. Old car is Toyota Celica T-Sport.
  11. You're not the only one to be sent CDs instead of DVD's for your SatNav, been a few posts about that. i'll make sure I pre-empt the dealer on that little issue! I found a firmware upgrade for my writer, it didn't mention 90+ minute CD support but i'll grab a couple from work and test it out, thanks for pointing out that little gem of wisdom. The embarrassing thing is i'm a software developer and should think of these things myself! I just got it in my head that my drive was too old and i'd need a new one.... maybe I subconciously just want to buy a new one... Anyway, thanks again. You've b
  12. BTW, smJohns, congrats on your ST! Hope its trouble free and putting a smile on your face!
  13. Thanks for all for the info. My current burner at home doesn't support the 99min format, but i'll be replacing it now. I've got the new Nero version too so i'm almost set. Got plenty of time to get that sorted as the dealer just phoned and said my car is on the build schedule for May. I set him straight about the specs of the Sat Nav too! It was doubly embarrasing for the poor chap as when reading the brochure with me he hadn't realised that each section of the brochure has its own exception list. When looking in the specs section, the Audio and Comms covers 2 pages and the exception lis
  14. That's great news, thanks very much. Not such a big deal about losing the autochanger then. I wish the dealers would sit down and study the cars more. It seems ridiculous to me that they don't know the answer to the simplest of questions.
  15. Hey all, Newbie user here. Just about to order my ST3 and just wanted to check if the Sat Nav system /CD Player is MP3 compatible i.e. reading MP3's from the CD? My dealer seemed to think it could only handle MP3's via the AUX Jack in the glove box and plugging in a third party player. But then he's not very clued up on the spec at all, and I don't trust his reasoning. The Brochure does mention MP3 but it is a little ambiguous. Any help very much appreciated, and congrats on the best car forum out there. DC
