Buying New C-Max - advice please.
Sallyann replied to Sallyann's topic in MK2 - Ford Focus 2005 > 2011
I've got some prices but some dealers have been closed over Easter. Will be phoning round on Tuesday. But (shock horror!) I'm going to have a test drive in a Golf Plus before committing to the C-Max. Sal -

But £600 is far more than the cost of heated seats as a factory option. Surely better to have them fitted new and not have to throw away a pair of unheated seats. Sal -

Thanks for the welcome and all the advice, guys. This really is a helpful place and I'm going to stick around. I haven't seen them, but they are listed in the C-Max brochure at £100. According to a salesman the pedals are mounted on a frame that is driven up and down by a motor, so it seems that they move together rather than individually. No doubt someone will pop up with more info. It seems a small price to pay to be sure of getting the driving position just right. I once had a Primera which I had to get rid of just because the pedals were too high off the floor. Sal -

I have heated seats and rear parking sensors on my present car and find them both useful. I want the adjustable pedals because my partner is much taller than me and I want to be certain that we can both get an ideal driving position. At only £100 it's a small extra cost. Sal -

Thanks Steve - I already got a quote and used it to argue with two dealers. This isn't my first new car so I know some of the ropes. Got some offers but not as good as the on-line. However I'm prepared to pay a little more with a local garage that I could build up a relationship with. Perhaps that's naive? Will a car with factory options always take longer than a bog-standard one? Sal -

Thanks for the advice. I'm already cautious about buying on-line and would be happy about paying a small premium for a deal with a local garage. That's about what I would expect, but it concerns me that some owners here are reporting much less. Sal -

I'm looking at a Ghia with adjustable pedals, heated seats, parking sensors. Sal -
Hi All from a new member. I'm about to buy a new 2.0TD C-Max and need some advice. 1. I've read on here about poor mpg figures - is this pretty general with every car or is it just a few bad cases that get mentioned here? 2. I've had quotes from two dealers in south London - Dees and Bristol Street. Does anyone have anything good or bad to say about either of them? 3. Even after haggling, the dealer prices seem much higher than web sales sites. Is this typical or am I just not haggling hard enough? 4. My car will have some factory fitted extras, so it's a special build. The dealers quote diffe
