We have a 54-plate Focus, the old shape, nice big boot. I regularly get new Focuses as hire cars for work. In the new one the sparewheel well is filled with a foam insert, the spare wheel sits on top of that packed around with more foam. The boot carpet sits on top of that. Result, about 6 inches less all round of boot space. If it were my own car the foam would be in the bin as soon as I'd driven it off the garage forecourt. Are all new Focuses like this and if so why?
