  1. I've never noticed them before! I guess they could be, I don't have a cover. Just been out to check my washers are the revised ones too and they are. Washed my car a few times and drove to London on Friday afternoon in the rain and no water got through so they must work.
  2. Here are some photos of my 1.6 petrol. I've highlighted the sparkplugs. bigbeere, if you have a diesel you won't have spark plugs so I wouldn't worry too much!
  3. MJD did a guide on replacing the front door speakers a while ago http://www.ffoc.co.uk/modules.php?name= ... front+door
  4. This happened to me about a month ago When I took the car to Polar they claimed they couldn't fix it under warranty because leaks in the bodywork are only covered for 1 yr. I had to point out to them that it wasn't leaky bodywork but leaky washer jets/pipes that caused it. They eventually replaced all the pipework that runs directly under the bonnet as well as the jets themselves under warranty.
  5. With you on that one! Simple solution - don't allow cups in ur car  This is what I do and I get the extra added bonus of not getting sticky milkshake all over the inside of my car when the other half drops it!
  6. I think I have seen this elsewhere on the forum but just in case you haven't... Check that your front washer jets aren't leaking onto the sparkplugs! They are cunningly positioned over the sparkplugs so that any water leaks straight into the well that the plugs sit in. On Saturday last week 1 of my plugs sheared into 2 (came apart at the join between the ceramic and the metal), let water into the system and the change in pressure resulted in all the rubber caps on the plugs being forced off, including taking half of the broken plug with it! 1 AA callout and a limp to Polar Ford later a
  7. hold the reset button in for a few seconds when you start the car up - gives you a whole bunch of extra infomation
  8. Actually this sounds like a side effect of configurable central locking. On higher spec cars you can configure the central locking to unlock just the drivers door for security. Have a look at this: http://www.ffoc.co.uk/modules.php?name= ... al+locking Ewan
  9. Try this. MJD posted a guide in a speaker thread a while back. http://www.ffoc.co.uk/modules.php?name= ... =door+card
  10. That fault with the sliding passengers seat is a known fault I think. I had it on my car soon after I bought it and I'm sure I've read others on here complain of it too.
  11. I've got the plastic button on my zetec climate. Been on my list of things to rectiify for ages as it looks really cheap!
  12. "helps reduce fuel consumption by up to 15 percent by means of an adapted driving style" I'd love to know how it achieves this
  13. Sai, It's all to do with circumference! A bit of GCSE maths... circumference = pi x diameter So, ur 18s will have a circumference of 56.5" whereas ur old 16"s were 50.2" So on 1 revolution of your new wheels you will have travelled 6" more than your old ones. If the speedo measures the number of revolutions your wheels make per minute, given the circumference of the wheel it can work out the speed you are travelling. Hence if your wheels get bigger the speedo is no longer accurate. Few! Also, I think that the bigger wheels just make acceleration slower, not overall speed. I thi
  14. Mikey, good "how to" How do you find the arm rest? I've got one on my zetec and tbh wish it wasn't there! I find it gets in the way of the handbrake so always have it in the upright position.
