  1. Its ok to protect the paint from stone chips but when you come to fitting it or taking it off you have to worry about what the inner fleece of the bra has done to the paint i.e scratches scuffs ect also if you leave vit on for too long i would think the paint fade would be very obvious?
  2. Hi Vini, Assuming you have a Mk2 < as your profile shows a Mk1.5 if you get a new key cut it will only operate the locks yes so you could use it for just unlocking the car.
  3. lol yeah thats why i started out on my own and left the dealers couldnt beleive how much they charge for an hours work :? glad i was able to help out fella
  4. just say its had a new Audio unit and it needs configuring fella the guy should know what your talking about hopefully?
  5. Right just checked and there isnt any TSB for COnfig and in the Diagnosis and Testing manual for the Audio unit all it says for Config Error showing on screen is Refer to IDS which will most probably what the dealer will do anyway as it will have a foult code showing that the VIN is incorrect for the Audio unit in comparison to the Vehicle's Vin which is programmed in to the other modules of the vehicle.
  6. there isnt actually a aervice part replacement number as suce but if i cant find a TSB then there will possibly be a repair procedure for replacing the unit it self which asks the dealer to configure with IDS half way through replacement
  7. you need to configure this when you change the unit i take it youv'e put this in recently? it needs to be configured using IDS the diagnostic computer the Ford dealer has im not too sure if its a TSB as it needs to be done when replacing with a service part but i will check for ya
  8. in answer to your question matey it wont and its an expensive and tasking job im afraid as you will need to flash the PCM to accept CC then also you will need the correct CC module as the car talks CAN Bus it will be a fun job  also IIRC Looms will need changing it would have been cheaper to order the car with CC thern retrofitting one
  9. the wiring is just a live and earth from the interior light fella so just cut the plug off and then it can be rewired very easy
  10. It is common that if the Turbo has broken up then metal fragments will block the oilways but more to the point will be in the oil lubricating your engine which the metal fragments will grind and wear away the internals like Bearings and also will score the Cylinder Bores. If you have the exact same engine for your car like same age of vehicle it came out of you can just use the origional ECU. If you use the other ECU then it will need the Keys programmed into the ECU and the Cluster which could cost a few bob
  11. this most defo wont work straight off fella as its not connected directly to the turbo it runs through the PCM which will give you loads of fun wiring it up. Also i think it goes through the Cluster first before it reaches the PCM which is run on the CAN Bus and dont even try and do any wiring with that as you will find that your car will not work at all afterwards fella  :?
  12. Make sure they are the Ford ones fella and not aftermarket ones. Most dealers seem to have a deal going with local companies that will come to their dealers and fit random aftermarket sensors for half/ a third of the price Ford want for a kit
  13. Surely you need to wire up the audible to a speak in the car. Nope thats why you connect the wiring to the reverse light. When the light comes on it powers up the sensor module which makes the audible warning come on
  14. the hardest thing when fitting is cutting the holes evenly and the same distance to each other. but the only wiring needed is to connect up to the Reverse light in the boot
  15. It all depends what Calibration your car is on fella you wont know that unless the IDS is plugged in.
